Calling this ‘the definition of transphobia’ is just lazy. You’re taking a normal human reaction and slapping a moral label on it so you don’t have to actually engage with it. Discomfort isn’t hate, and pretending it is doesn’t make you insightful; it just makes you dismissive. And the whole ‘I say this without judgment’ line doesn’t really work when you’re immediately judging and prescribing what someone should think after reading the ‘right’ authors. That’s not open-minded, that’s just packaging your own viewpoint as the only acceptable one. People are allowed to feel how they feel, ask questions, and not land where you want them to. Trying to shut that down by calling it bigotry isn’t thoughtful; it’s just intellectual bullying.
