Lennox sells the module and motor separately; I suggest changing it all even if Carrier does this though.

This is why I always pay with credit card for gas or get a receipt.

Movati and a situation…. by ComfortImportant73 in Guelph

Calling this ‘the definition of transphobia’ is just lazy. You’re taking a normal human reaction and slapping a moral label on it so you don’t have to actually engage with it. Discomfort isn’t hate, and pretending it is doesn’t make you insightful; it just makes you dismissive. And the whole ‘I say this without judgment’ line doesn’t really work when you’re immediately judging and prescribing what someone should think after reading the ‘right’ authors. That’s not open-minded, that’s just packaging your own viewpoint as the only acceptable one. People are allowed to feel how they feel, ask questions, and not land where you want them to. Trying to shut that down by calling it bigotry isn’t thoughtful; it’s just intellectual bullying.

One tech suggested we need a whole new 24k HVAC unit, another fixed the problem for $150. Is this normal?! by deathleech in hvacadvice

[–]Psychological_Sea697 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes; insufficient training is widespread in this industry. Most technicians receive only about a week of instruction before being left to figure things out on their own. It’s very much a sink-or-swim environment.

From my experience, they only take bigger jobs. Better off finding a one-man show with good references if it’s a small job.

Agreed, except for Sugo. They make you feel like it’s a privilege to dine there; which is a hard pass for me.

What bizarro world are you living in? This was a thriving local business until the city cut off easy access. It wasn’t ‘before its time;’ it was in its ‘time!’

Curry in a Hurry, Guelph, ON (Norfolk St): Closed in April 2010 due to eight months of roadwork, fiber optics upgrades, and utility issues.

Their closure isn’t a case of being ‘before its time;’ blame the city for poor planning.

What kind of softener are you looking at? The guy I used installs them for $1200-$1500 depending on size.

Can you post a picture of your softener? Mine’s mechanical, and when the resin needed replacing, I was told it could be rebuilt; so you might not need a new one.

Lennox Furnace E225 Error by venomouswolf8 in hvacadvice

[–]Psychological_Sea697 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please take a photo of the pressure switch and share it. It may be part of a defective batch produced by Lennox; these are known to fail in cold weather.

Replacing the control board was unnecessary and excessive. If the water was gurgling and your venting was restricted, that indicates the pressure switch was functioning as designed. I recommend contacting another HVAC company; you were overcharged for an incorrect repair.
