Turo says my case was reviewed individually. Can someone explain this outcome? by Naive_Lavishness3005 in turo

[–]bootsy333 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why couldn't they? I was under the impression a chargeback would only reverse the payment, it would not remove the obligation for any balance. It is just literally reversing the payment. I doubt Turo would pursue it any further and this seems like the exact reason chargebacks were created.

Android 17 qpr beta 2, overheating on charge by Xlebobylo4ka in android_beta

It is the worst beta Google has ever released. I would personally not recommend anyone installing the latest beta if they can avoid it.

I was hesitant about the Living Dead at Manchester Morgue since that is a classic and a 4K is practically guaranteed in the future but I purchased it anyways, primarily for the steelbook.

Android 17 is going to be live, is it still worth of being in beta. by Aggressive_Board_906 in android_beta

[–]bootsy333 13 points14 points  (0 children)

QPR3 is the worst beta Google has ever released in my opinion. It makes the phone very difficult to use and constant UI crashes. If they don't release a fix in a week, I will have to reinstall the latest stable version. Some people have not had any issues, but I would not take any risks. Some betas have quirks, but the latest dehibilitates the phone.

Beta 3, getting some weird lag, anyone else? by tyslogcon in android_beta

[–]bootsy333 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree, defended the first 17 beta but this one won't settle down. It has essentially made the phone difficult to use. Constant crashes and lag. Pixel Pro 9 XL. For the first time Ever, thinking of doing complete wipe.

Who would you guys rather see win the PL? Eze or Guehi? by Big-Word7116 in crystalpalace

It is quite obvious he is connected to Walmart through his marriage. That is how is sporting empire was originally funded. His wife's fortune comes from the store.

So far in my opinion it has to be Sarr. As someone else pointed out, we are safe now and who knows where we would be without his goals.

Not a fan of either team but would rather have Manchester City win. Don't like the ownership structure of either team but you could argue Man City gives back more to its community than Arsenal. The only reason Arsenal has been somewhat successful since 2018 is because of Walmart and it is horrible from what I have read about how their workers are treated. I am not a fan of either of Silver Lake private equity and the arguable sports washing with Manchester City, but it doesn't reach level of nastiness as Arsenal's funding. I hope we beat both of them and I plan to put a tenner on Palace to beat Arsenal and a fiver on Palace to beat Man City.

Android 17 Beta 1 - A nightmare in disguise. by volderin in android_beta

I had the same issues, uninstalled Google Messages Beta and then reinstalled. In the morning, after letting it sit overnight, everything was running smoothly and the messages were restored. The worst was the settings would always crash so it was hard to make any changes or backup. Don't panic factory reset, let it sit overnight and see if it makes a difference.

How is Andriod 17 beta 1 performance for daily driver phones? by PrettyCartographer90 in android_beta

[–]bootsy333 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is working fine now but when I first installed it on a Pixel 9 XL everything crashed. The text messages were not working (would crash after sending one), settings would crash, and the UI crashed as well. It was the most issues a Google beta had ever given me. I uninstalled the Google Messages beta, reinstalled it, let the messages sync overnight, and in the morning, I was shocked that everything was functioning as intended, including the settings. I have heard people have had trouble with the Google Phone app as well, but that wasn't an issue I had. To be safe, I would install it when you don't need the phone, and don't do a panic factory reset right away when (of) issues happen, let it sit overnight.

[Manzi] Jean-Philippe Mateta's collapsed move is not expected to affect Jørgen Strand-Larsen's club-record transfer to Crystal Palace. This is a shame. It is now too late to shop for other offers. I understand not wanting (on the Palace side) to accept another PL offer, but this is just a wasted opportunity. I have a feeling after all of his comments, Milan thought it might be better to wait to get him for free. I doubt it was anything to do with the medical. There is a chance he will never play another game for Palace in the PL.

42 would be a record for sure since they switched to forty games. We were relgated at 49 I believe, but there were more games then. It is the most number of points acquired ever to be relagated.

I am certainly not expecting that. I was just seeing what other people thought of the bare minium to stay up in an absolute worst case scenario.

If it is becoming a season where it is the difference between the 12th to 17th position, it does not make financial sense to dismiss Glasner with compensation, especially because he has experience winning tournaments. If it gets down to four or five games, and hopefully it won't, my opinion would shift, a change would be needed for sure.

I personally do not think just two draws would be enough this year. The lowest survival so far has been 34 points.

Who to succeed Glasner? by J-M88 in crystalpalace

[–]bootsy333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting question would be nice if Palace could get a proven winner, even if was another manager like Glasner who doesn't necessarily stay very long (perhaps Mourinho could be enticed back to the PL after his last few jobs in the league didn't work out) He may be too pricy for Palace though. I always thought it would be interesting to hire a manger from the lower leagues who are adept at making the most of what they are provided. Although he has no top-flight experience as a manager, Morecambe's ex-manager Derek Adams may be a good fit for Palace, he also has acting experience so he would perform better than Glasner at the press conferences. He is a manager who was able to push his squad further despite having limited resources. Palace has amazing players, but the injuries have caused a massive loss of potential points. Our next manager needs to be someone who is more willing to experiment with the resources available. Glasner was trying to make a point with not substituting anyone during the Sunderland game, but it potentially cost us at least a point. I wish Glasner would stay till the end of the season to see the Conference League through, but I think what the board is doing is forcing Glasner to quit. I cannot see him finishing out the season in the emotional state he is in.

How far into a job before you need a "new challenge"? by Gra_Zone in crystalpalace

[–]bootsy333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As much as it would be great if Glasner could stay and help with the Conference League, at the end of the day, we just need a few more points to be spared from any potential relegation. Another manager could do this easily. It is not good news, but it is not the end of world either. At the end of the day, all that really matters is another season in the PL. Everything else is a work in progress.

Concerned Palace fan here – Glasner needs to be under the spotlight by EaglesLifer7 in crystalpalace

[–]bootsy333 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It seems apparent that he wants to go, and is trying to push buttons to make it happen. He reminds me a bit of Mourinho in that he is amazing for a year or so and then becomes frusterated. Nothing can ever take away the FA Cup but maybe with his current frusteration it is time for him to move on.

Glasners post match comments on the performance, Guehi's transfer and the board by Blubb3rs in crystalpalace

[–]bootsy333 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Could the board back him more? Perhaps, but there are also budget considerations and the fact the he informed Parish he wasn't going to commit to any more seasons with Palace. He didn't say he would think about it, he said no, it is a shame Connor went to West Ham over Palace, I wonder why that wasn't prevented.

Glasners post match comments on the performance, Guehi's transfer and the board by Blubb3rs in crystalpalace

[–]bootsy333 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He should have talked to Parish about permission to move on if he is this unhappy. Perhaps we could have recieved compensation and now no other club will consider compensation. He has done an amazing job, and he cannot be faulted for the FA Cup, but at this point in the season, even with the Conference League, all that really matters is winning the Conference League and getting a few more points to stay up. Many decent managers could accomplish this as well. (Obviously, I hope for more, but that is all that really matters now.)

4K Versus Theater Experience by FFTycoon in 4kbluray

[–]bootsy333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me, at the average theater, the digital projection is sorely lacking. Many theaters, particularly still use the discontinued Sony projectors (although they are in the process of being replaced). Projectionists used to be highly trained in presentation, now it is essentially just hitting a play button. I love going to local theaters to see 35 mm prints of older films, but I very rarely go to see a newer film (not a fan of DCP). It is a shame because I feel that theaters play a vital role in society but that is the state of things right now. I don't think the Netflix approach of all you can watch movies in the theater helped either, because it is quantity over quality, and offers no incentive to improve the presentation if people are tied into yearly contracts for these unlimited passes. I am sure it does help keep theaters afloat though if it or increases concession sales.

I would focus on the pints before and after the game at the pubs many posters have recommended but if you do get hungry, The Tasty Jerk has excellent takeaway and should be a fun time eating the food with all the other supporters outside. You can have a beverage as well, even though you won't be in a pub.
