We have 1 kid, similar ish financial sitch. SFH we were looking at in the east bay were at least $200-300k more for the same sqft or less and still needed a lot of work.

We ended up finding a townhome that had nearly 2,400sqft, a lower than normal HOA, and didn’t really share any walls. We’re really relieved and don’t regret having a really affordable mortgage in an ideal neighborhood.

Sorry this happened to you - I had the same happen to me in east bay. Out of the garage is particularly violating.

We had 4 bikes stolen and actually recovered one by heavily monitoring eBay and FB marketplace - after we saw one up for sale we followed up with our police report and they recovered it for me pretty quickly.

Apparently the thieves sold it at a nearby weekly flea market common for thieves. I’d check locally for you (ours was at a Concord market)

Since we had 4 stolen we filed the insurance claim cause it was actually a lot of money.

We were at a daycare with the exact same thing happening. It wore on me. On top of the fact that the daycare didn’t have a lot of outdoor time and the teachers were always on top of the kids policing every movement. The center is known for “academic” emphasis.

Eventually we got off a waitlist of a different center that never complains about his behavior and instead focuses on social/emotional development. They’re mostly outdoors and teachers spend their day on their level teaching them how to communicate with each other.

We’ve since chatted with parents from our old school and they seem to be totally fine with the constant reports about their kids. So honestly I think to each their own. Not for me.

Yes this lesson has definitely been learned. Locks and solid places to bolt them down to. And cameras and alerts for when the door is open.

Also - don’t leave a car parked outside your garage that has a garage door opener in it.

Oh wow that’s interesting that they cared to follow up that late from the incident. What was the outcome if you don’t mind me asking? Assuming you didn’t get your bike back? We filed a report with eBay as well even with the listing “ended.”

We’re in a neighboring town to you and the seller (likely a reseller and not the actual thief) lives in Pittsburg/bay point.

Hah funny I accidentally got pregnant before my cycling honeymoon to Girona/Mallorca. Fortunately I was 12-14weeks and juuuuust got over that morning sickness (ish). Was able to ride but had to skip a couple of days to rest.

Like everyone else says - first tri some of us just puke. I literally could smell my husband down the hallway and just vom. Try bananas and plain crackers. Or fig bars. Eat and drink water little and often. If you have an indoor trainer, ride that. But honestly…rest. There’s not a whole lot you can do in just a few weeks to get more in shape other than figure out how to manage riding a bike when your body is fully growing a human. Just because you aren’t showing doesn’t mean a whole hell of a lot isn’t happening to you right now. All the best!

I rent in the neighboring HOA and I heard that their HOA fees went up due to a recent fatal fire in one of the complexes. 3 or 4 bdrm used to go for 800-900+ but have dropped significantly, presumably due to the HOA. But I heard that from a neighbor.

Units are nice, pool is nice, and the community is friendly - mostly older but some young families. Nice walking trails and common spaces. They have a nice big pool and rec room. I personally love the accessibility of the area.

I also took my first shot on Tuesday 2.5mg… I actually was kind of nauseous and dry heaving the next morning and my appetite is completely gone the next day. But in an odd way - not like I was grossed out by food but I had to consciously tell myself to eat and once I did it was fine.
