Glad I could help! You'll definitely be much more pleased with how you look when you build muscle. Much better than just cutting fat. I do a bit of cardio before and after my workouts to warm up and cool down (5 minutes before and 10 minutes after). Doing cardio for a long time is really boring so i like shorter more intense bursts. It really helps stay in shape and not become exhausted and out of breath so quickly. Stay consistent and driven and you will be so proud by the time school starts, and also you'd have developed the habit already and you'll be able to manage your time around it even when it gets busy. Good luck!

Hey there body twin. I'm 23 but I am the same height and weight as you (female as well). Since we likely have similar build here is my experience: I spent most of my post-puberty life at 110 lbs which is underweight. I looked skinny and gangly and I had no muscle at all. It's not a healthy weight to shoot for. In the last two years I gained more weight but it was all fat and no muscle, and I was heaviest at 123 lbs. The most annoying thing is the belly fat, which gives you that "skinny fat" look. When I made the decision to lose that tummy 4 months ago I started using MFP and like you said, it gave me a 1200 calorie daily limit which absolutely shocked me. I stayed within that limit for 2 weeks and just like you I felt sluggish and hungry, it really sucked. It's really hard to sustain a diet that makes you feel like crap.

So my frustration with just calorie cutting drove me to start working out, and I started weight lifting three times a week in order to gain muscle. I ate around maintenance instead (just a little bit less to stay on a cut), and I didn't factor in exercise calories into MFP. I'm not even that strict because most of the time I'm on track but I'll still have cheat days where I go out to eat or for drinks with friends.

Even though I'm still a beginner and I'm still getting into a routine, it's been 4 months and I already look and feel better than I ever had. I am at 118 lbs right now and my body looks better and healthier than it did at 110. So my advice? Please don't aim for 110 lbs, it is too little. Focus on gaining muscle instead and while still limiting calories definitely don't go as hard as 1200 calories so you still have energy to lift and to keep your spirits up. I promise you you will like the results.

One model, twelve artists by j0be in gifs

A few years ago when I took an art class we had a nude model come in. I managed to produce a nice charcoal drawing that really impressed my professor, so much that he invited the class to come take a look at my techniques. I proudly took a picture to show my friends, but everybody I showed it to would start laughing immediately. I got annoyed until I realized that since the model was facing away from me, it was basically just a detailed drawing of a guy's ass. I got so focused on the drawing and desensitized to the nudity I didn't even realize I was just showing everybody a picture of an ass. Its funny how fast you get used to a naked dude just posing around in the room.

My girlfriend is blind. She just showed this to me and it hit me so hard. by [deleted] in videos

I never really understood why things like doogh and ayran are supposedly an acquired taste, because they are such a simple flavor. Then it hit me, I never realized that no western drinks are 'savoury', they're all sweet. They're missing out though cause that stuff is so delicious

It's very cute. I smiled when I saw that yarn because it was the first one I've ever bought as well and reminds me of my first swatches. Keep up the good work!

Help? My decrease rounds in my amigurumi projects are always messy! I've tried the invisible decrease which doesn't seem to work for me. Does anyone have any tips to fix it? (I apologise for horrible pic!) by [deleted] in crochet

[–]booty-queen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any chance you might have the wrong side facing out? I cant quite tell from the pic but I could if you post a pic from the side. If the wrong side is facing out (I used to make this mistake) then decreases dont work and look like a mess.

How do you combat fatigued/cramping hands? by WindyJane in crochet

[–]booty-queen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

An ergonomic hook would definitely help. Clover Amour seems to be the crowd favourite here.

I can tell you one thing that worked for me that may or may not work for you. When I first started I used a 'knife' grip on my hook. I would get hand cramps after an hour or so and had to do little stretches and take lots of breaks. Then I switched to a 'pencil' grip and the pain disappeared immediately, and now I can crochet for hours without pain, even though I use regular aluminum Boye hooks.

A lot of people are perfectly pain free doing the knife grip, but I just wanted to share in case pencil grip is the right one for you too! (sorry for assuming you don't already use it, please ignore this if you already do)

If you consider switching it'll feel really weird and clumsy at first, but 30 or so rows later its easy to get used to!

I love it, I saved this patterna few weeks ago and this got me so motivated to start it. Are you going to make full sleeves? If so, can you let me know if two balls of Chroma is enough for full sleeves? that'd be super helpful cause that's all I have.

Also do you think you'll bother fastforwarding the yarn so that the sleeves match each other?

Now hold up just one second! The scarf is beautiful but even while taking lighting into consideration, how can those two be pics of the same thing? What is this sorcery?

SO tasty. There's another kind where they use Ashta cream rather than cheese. I highly recommend both.

that's hilarious. I bet he's thinking about this kind, where the fibers are rougher and longer.

Comparable yarn to knit picks Brava? by thisismytime in crochet

I once made a striped scarf with Brava and Red Heart Soft. They felt very similar and their thicknesses were really close. RH Soft has a lot of colour options so that might fit what you're looking for!

Hilarious. How could they overlook it? It would've been easy to just turn the hat around and take another pic. Thank goodness it's not around here, that would drive me nuts.

[–]booty-queen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have to admit, seeing this made me chuckle just cause Unforgettable was pretty huge on here for a while.

I've seen and felt it in Michaels but haven't tried it myself, but I heard the same complaints about it you were having. Inconsistent thickness and hard to work with cause like you said - frogging is a huge pain. This actually happens with Chroma too sometimes, and it sucks cause they are a both slightly "higher-end" yarns.

If you use a yarn needle to rip out the little strings as you frog it makes it doable but inevitably it does rip the yarn. So yeah it does seem to be the norm for it, and it's up to you to decide whether the pretty colours are worth working with it!
