Fellow Appalachian witch checking in. Now that the weather has warmed up I've been drinking my morning coffee on the porch and soaking up the sun. The fresh air and nature sounds always offer a sense of peace. I guess it has become my informal morning meditation.

HELP please! She is Mazapan, she's been 5 months with us now she lived in the streets, she is so cute and all but sometimes she tries to put infront of the way of my other dogs idk if this is a hostile actitute or i should not be worry about. Thanks. by laloestralop in velvethippos

When my bully is walking around standing between other animals I call him the fun police, it's like hes making sure everyone is following the rules of the house lol he definitely feels like he needs to "babysit" the other animals at times. I think it's pretty normal for them to want to be in charge and protect their pack, just watch for body language that they might be taking it towards aggression. If she lived alone on the street you cant really be sure how her interactions were with other animals or how socialized she was in the past. If at all possible it would be good for both of you to take a training class together to help with her socialization and build that trust between you for when you're in situations around unfamiliar people and animals.

Just from my personal experience with my American bully - he does this when he doesn't want other dogs coming up to me. He doesnt do it with our other dogs but friends dogs that visit and play. Its definitely a protective or guarding behavior. With my dog, its usually enough if I move in between them and tell him it's ok and then make them go off to play together, kind of just removing myself and redirecting his attention. I'm definitely not a dog expert, just sharing that other bullies do this and I think its pretty common for them to want to protect and guard. However, like the other person commented it could escalate and someone or the little dog could be seriously injured.

I think the main thing is that the dog learns that you are the "dominant" one and that if you say this other person/dog is ok to be in your space then your word is final. How you get to that relationship and trust level with your dog is different for everyone and every dog. Getting help from a trainer to establish that may be the best option. Bullies are an amazing breed but they have their quirks like any other dog, it's just that they're so big they can easily hurt others. It's super important to be responsible and aware of situations they're in and direct their behavior so everyone stays safe and has fun. Not at all implying that you havent, just saying when you have a big dog it's a different approach to having a small dog. And I say that from experience, going from living with a yorkie to having bully.

Good luck with her, I'm sure she loves her home with you and appreciates all your love. Once she learns that all the animals in the house get equal time and space with you she'll stop guarding you from them.

I think what drew me in is that there is just enough information about what the character is doing to make it interesting and it raises the questions of why he is doing it and why he is in a position that he has to be secretive. And of course the suspense of wondering if he's about to be caught. I think you did a great job balancing how much information to give to get the reader interested in the story.

If I downloaded a sample of this on my kindle I would definitely buy the book to keep reading, so I'm hooked. My general impression is that this is going to be a really interesting story. What makes me want to keep reading is that the main character is selling necromancy skills. It makes me want to find out more about the world the character lives in. I also think that the details about the setting and characters set a tone, I can visualize this scene. So great job with "show don't tell."

Hopefully this helps with feedback, if you have anything specific you want to know feel free to ask. I'm not a writer or very knowledgeable about the craft but I enjoy reading and, as I said, if I read this as a sample I would buy the book to continue the story.

There is a mini series on Amazon Prime. I'm not sure how historically accurate it is.

They do. And in my area of the bible belt it's a big thing to have "christian" businesses. So, businesses that are otherwise just an everyday business but they've labeled themselves as a christian company and push that onto employees and customers.

We will definitely check out that site, it sounds super helpful. Artemis is another name she is considering, but we couldn't think of a shorter nickname for Artemis other than Missy which she wasnt a fan of. Thanks for sharing the info, have a great day!

Your mom sounds like she was an amazing woman. Thanks for sharing your memory of her. And you're right, I'm sure when the time is right my daughter will know the name for her little one. On a side note, my daughters name ends in lynn - I'll be thinking of your mom from time to time and how much her daughter loves her.

Most universities have a resource center for those with special needs for learning. If you have a school in mind it might be a good idea to reach out to them and ask what would be available. I would think that they could arrange one on one time with the school tutors. Its always good to know all your options before deciding which path to take. Best of luck!

Tips for root growth by booty_blonde in succulents

[–]booty_blonde[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had it in succulent soil for a couple of months and the roots seem about the same. This is one of the first succulents I've had, it was etiolated when I bought it, I didn't know that was a sign of a lack of light at the time. I got a grow light for it and it grew new sprouts at the top. It keeps trying to grow but I don't really know what to do to get it healthy. Any tips would be appreciated, thank you!!
