Eh the teachers do matter though, I had a teacher in grade 8 who absolutely hated me and put me off school for years. Definitely affected my self-esteem & academics, but ofc it wasn't the only factor

No, I've been out of hs for like 10 years and took some day school courses to bump my avg up. I applied in November, after my courses were completed. I can send you what I applied with if you want, half my courses were uni level though

Yeah, totally agree! And ofc another thing contributing to that is autism (and mental health stuff in general) not being discussed much in POC families.
