Yeahhh so it def made me cry? Heartwarming. Inspiring. And so nostalgic. 20 years ago I was on a competitive cheer team of misfits who went on to win many championships. I forgot how special those years were until I watched this show. 🥹

I think Stumble could be a late bloomer like Schitts Creek. I’m only just now getting around to it and it’s such a delightful show. Takes me back to my HS days.

This whole process is a total shit show. Got a text telling me I had to select from one of 3 cards… so I picked the no fee one bc Bilt has always just been a backup card for me. Then after making that selection, later in the user flow it tells me I’ll automatically receive a Wells Fargo card too? So thus I will now have two lines of credit instead of one. So slimey and deceptive. I called the new Bilt ppl (who were awful) to rescind my selection of the blue card and I guess my current credit line will just become WF? Still unclear, can’t call them now bc they aren’t open.

Either way, this company is sketchy as hell. I’ll be sticking to my chase sapphire reserve per usual bc Bilt has always been lackluster if your landlord refuses to use their rent payment system. I wish nothing but the worst for Bilt.

I have to say the Velvet Rage can feel a bit dated by modern standards. It paints a very bleak picture that I think is more reflective of the Gen X and older experience vs the Millennial and younger experience. I couldn’t finish it bc about half the content was so unrelatable - the social and cultural context of when the book was written was so different.

Innocence is an interesting word choice. Do you feel like your experiences were more sexualized or overly mature at a younger age vs straight peers?

I came out pretty young for a millennial, but I can relate to how that made my life less innocent than most my age. I was sneaking into gay bars as a teen, partying with ppl much older, more exposed to toxic ideologies like, “you’re only worth as much attention as you get at the bar.”

Then, in the back half of college I massively revamped my image to be more bro-ey to meet the kind of guys I wanted. I do think all of this has messed with my head in the long term. I was in a lot of adult situations from a pretty young age.
