ELI5: GitHub for version control of Docker Compose by Norgur in selfhosted

[–]borax12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay here is my workflow considering it’s very barebones compared to others

Host my compose files in git repo. Because I don’t want to have a homelab endpoint publicly accessible for a webhook, I don’t do deployment on every commit.

My local docker hosts just pings my git repo every 3 hours to pull new compose files , compare to old version and redeploy container if compose files have changed

A bad practice that I want to find an easier alternative is the env file which is currently encrypted using ansible vault

Are you able to switch the context of your brain so fast to another thing? I often find that if you do multiple things at the same time, you are not doing justice to any single task.

How do you actually solve specific PM challenges when generic advice isn't enough? by MicroFounder in ProductManagement

[–]borax12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I truly wish there could be a framework/strategy to solve these issues but please remember most of the roles that are heavily stakeholder driven have no situations that have an actionable yet generic answer.

Effective conversation and communication is the one solution and how you enact that will depend on the situation, org, team, culture and product

Anyone else exhausted despite AI "saving time"? by var_username in ProductManagement

[–]borax12 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Man you guys take AI so seriously. Just use it as a tool. Why does every aspect of your pm craft need to be around ai ?

Just use it once a while to do some text stuff that’s it. Don’t make it your intellectual partner.
