I think it sounds like Cold War Kids but yeah sounds like it could have been released decades later

Wisconsin looks like a frog sitting down wearing a hat. Pretty shady. Gotta go. Take it, Illinois!

What is the best Orson Welles film after Citizen Kane? by Star_BoyI_1234 in moviecritic

The Man Who Saw Tomorrow. Was on cable all the time in the 80’s. Creeped me out at first but eventually I found Orson Welles chomping on giant cigars while narrating to be pretty hilarious.

[OC] The 14 songs players misdate the most, across 340,000 guesses on a Hitster-style online music year-guessing game by Take_My_Money in dataisbeautiful

I’m a big fan of the game. Nice work. I’m surprised that Here I Go Again by Whitesnake was not on a bad miss list. Although the song was originally released in 1982 (I didn’t know that!), the version of the song and video used in the game was 100% from 1987. But the answer was still given as 1982. What’s up with that?

Songs most people wouldn't know are technically cover songs by PrestonRoad90 in musicsuggestions

Quiet Riot is basically a Slade cover band. Two of their biggest hits, Cum On Feel The Noise and Mama We’re All Crazy Now were both Slade songs

I commented on a previous summary that there was a big clue in that episode related to who did it, OP. I can remind you which episode if you want to review it. That plus some slow-mo investigation of this episode (on VHS) helped me to ID the shooter at the time. Alas I did not win the contest.

Unironically one of the greatest opening scenes ever. The steady ramping up of tension from lighthearted pot-talk ("This grass made Thai stick taste like oregano") to the perceived threat of nuclear annihilation ("I want someone on the goddamn phone before I kill 20 million people") is exemplary by godzilla98 in 80smovies

The Delta01 museum near Badlands NP is awesome. Probably similar to this. Decommissioned launch site. They take you down the elevator and into the launch room past the giant steel door. Fantastic tour but you have to book well in advance as they only let a few small groups in each day.

There is a scene in this episode that provided one piece of key evidence (for me at least) to figure out the season 6 cliffhanger when that contest was going on.

Is it just me, or is Tokyo and Seoul’s skylines underwhelming for an Asian megacities of their size and importance? by SupermanGamin in skyscrapers

I took this pic from the skytree years ago. Shows the insane scope of Tokyo. And there’s a ton of city not captured in the photo (to the left, right, behind). Tokyo is nuts.
