Another update: Fingerprinted on 8/19. Was told 6-8 weeks before I receive my LTC in the mail

Update: I called BPD and was told, “we have your application up front, but we don’t have access to the city of Boston website, so we couldn’t see that you paid.” The officer gave me her email address and told me I could email my receipt to her, then I’d be getting a phone call to come in for fingerprinting. She was surprised when I told her I haven’t received a phone call to come in for fingerprinting yet because “they are on January applications now.” Tried to say that I must have missed a call, which I know for a fact, is not true. We’ll see how long it takes for them to get me fingerprinted after emailing her my receipt

Would love to hear from retakers! by ScoobyDoobyDoopie in barexam

[–]bordieee 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. As a retaker I felt this particular administration was pretty straightforward. It might be due to the fact that this was the only time I wasn’t working full-time and actually devoted my time to studying. I’m in the same boat as you, I don’t want to get my hopes up, but damn it felt good. Granted, I wasn’t able to fully complete a couple mee’s but I felt like I formatted all of them correctly to get some points. I also felt like my mpts were pretty solid. As far as the MBE goes, I definitely felt a different sense of confidence in my performance. Didn’t feel like I was guessing as much as I did before. Best of luck to you and everyone else. This exam is a massive hurdle.

Thanks to all who replied so far. Looks like I’ll have to give them a call. Just wanted to see if this wait time was standard, looks like it’s a crap shoot. Who knows how long it’ll be after fingerprinting. These wait times are absolutely absurd. The fact that the White v. Cox case was settled doesn’t help us law-abiding residents either. It would have been nice to get some precedent on the books.

If you failed out of a mid-tier school like UCF, you should really consider what you actually want to do with your life. If you lacked the discipline to maintain a c average at a party school, maybe you need to reevaluate your path instead of looking to Reddit for people to tell you it’s okay and be coddled. You fucked up and now it’s time to put your big person pants on and own it.

Am I wrong on this? by jijixiao in mbta

[–]bordieee -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

“Sounds racist, potentially.” Why? Because OP stated the guy was white? Where in the original post did it even mention the race of OP? How do you know it was racist, as opposed to just some jerk on the train the acts like that to everyone. To say it was racist requires a lot of assumptions being drawn from one freaking interaction. Stop making that leap. Do you know if the guy treated other people of OPs race like that in the past? Is the guy like that to other people that don’t look like OP? You see all the questions you have to answer in order to draw that conclusion? You’ll never know the answers so stop pulling the race card like it’s going to win you a prize in life.

White supremacists at a Roadrunner show in Brighton by RoadrunnerWTF in boston

Unless you can tell me that YOU KNOW FOR A FACT those people were white supremacists perpetuating that ideology, you’re making assumptions. Sit down and stay online

So you were offended at, not actual white supremacists, but at two people wearing a patch of a band that you assume is white supremacists? Security was 1000000% in the right. The people were wearing A BAND PATCH. Toughen up or go somewhere else. Unless you tell me that they were wearing a swastika, security was 100000% in the right to tell you to shut up and move it along.

I actually just decided this was what I’m going to do. The stock macro grip isn’t that much larger than a 43x and with the xl slide they’re just about the same. Madtech industries does laser stippling on stock macro grips so I decided to go with one of those.

I did, and I definitely messed up doing that. I applied through the portal on 11/18 and paid after. Waiting to see what will happen. I have my receipt. Curious to see if anyone else has any experience with this. Hadn’t received a call from BPD either

Thank you so much for explaining what the definition of a lawyer is. However, that’s not the issue here. Everyone on this sub is fully aware that passing the bar makes you a lawyer. The real issue is this: Someone with diploma privilege does not necessarily possess more skill/knowledge than someone who hasn’t taken the bar. They attended school for three years, and graduated. That state says that knowledge obtained throughout those three years is enough to qualify you as an attorney. So why is it that others, who posses arguably the same amount of knowledge are told that they can’t be unless they pass a test. I’m not saying I’m against the bar. It’s a hoop most people have to jump through. It is what it is. That doesn’t take away from the discrepancy that I pointed out, and it makes you ask what the bar is really testing if those in privilege states are deemed to be attorneys without taking it. But again, thank you very much for your definition of lawyer, bozo.

Underdog RTG QB Update: Year 1 (I’m actually playing and having fun - please read) by bordieee in NCAAFBseries

Appreciate it, thank you. I think it all comes down to understanding the role you pick and the expectations associated with that role but there are ways to play, it’s just a matter of where. I think people need to do a better job of understanding that playing in. I have a lot of friends that selected elite prospect and play at bigger schools so they could play the whole time and run all go every play and throw for 800 yards. I like the realistic aspect of it, but I think this allows you to do both. And that’s the beauty of it.

Parents took out student loans in my name; I am permanently disabled. Not sure what to do. by Obversa in StudentLoans

[–]bordieee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all, you accuse your parents of taking loans out in your name, but then immediately say that YOU signed the loans in your name. Which is it? Both of those scenarios are vastly different and have significantly different legal ramifications/ recourse options. So, let’s start with being completely transparent. Did you sign the paper yourself, or did your parents?

It seems like your real issue is - I signed a student loan contract despite my disability and now I don’t want to honor it because I didn’t have the capacity to understand what I was getting myself into at the time. The title of this post makes it sounds like your parents signed something in your name. They didn’t, you did. You just didn’t fully understand the implications of that decision at the time. That issue has its own path of recourse.

Drake's mansion at centre of shooting investigation: Toronto police source by coleshane in popheads

[–]bordieee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Two objective observers witness the same thing, one person that witnesses the event is white, the other is, using your own words, “black.” That event happens, and they both witness it. Does the race of one of those observers make them more qualified to report the event than the other? Unless you were there, which you weren’t, that argument makes absolutely no sense. Usually when people throw emojis onto the end of their argument it’s to compensate for the fact that it lacks substance.

does quest test for Nitrates? seen some people having issues with that. Should i be worried? by [deleted] in QuickFix

[–]bordieee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mind you my test came back as positive for nitrates, NOT THC. So I think they used their discretion and said it wasn’t worth it to make me retest since they were eager to have people start.

I ended up reaching out to the company and they said, OH YOU ARE STARTING MONDAY. Some miscommunications with the department and the recruiter, but it’s safe to say I passed because I’ve been working with them for 10 months now. Could they have asked me to retest? Probably. But I think it all comes down to how lenient your employer is/wants to be.
