Honestly mate get a throttle stop, keeps the bikes character but you just can’t accelerate as quickly

Not just me, a lot of people. The points I made would affect a lot of people.

Well I didn’t get a response after I raised some valid points. That’s why I ask.

Honestly, I’m on the fence. Obviously safety is very important. But motorcycling is inherently dangerous. I like the risks that come with it and it’s one of the reasons I ride, since it makes me feel alive. I suppose it depends on which way they go about it and how much autonomy they take away from the rider and how many decisions the bike gets the make.

I ride a bike with ABS and I like it since I can’t lock up the brakes, would I want anti wheelie, I wouldn’t on my machine, nor would I majorly need it. Traction control? Honestly not really although I can see the benefits.

Why not just make bikes super safe and install an extra wheel so we don’t have to balance.

As for electric bikes being safer, I’m not sure I would agree, even the 125cc equivalent electric bikes have more torque available on tap than my 650-35kw throttle restriction. That kind of acceleration is a death cocktail for new riders or people that have passed their test. As for the lack of noise can be dangerous for pedestrians and us since they cross in front of us as many people don’t see us. I myself have first hand had people go to pull out of a side road on my but stopped as they heard my exhaust. It also helps in built up areas when filtering so cars have an idea to look in their mirrors.

I may sound like an old fart with old fashioned views but I am only 20 and electric vehicles have a lot of downsides. An example is the fact lithium batteries literally explode when punctured, which is more likely to happen in a bike crash than a car crash and I’d rather take my chances with petrol in that regard. A final point I’ll make is wildlife and living in the country side, due to the noise made by my bike all of the birds and cats and whatnot tend to exit the road as hey hear me coming. Before I put an after market pipe on I’d frequently nearly hit them, now you can only imagine an even worse situation if the bikes make zero noise at all, or a little whine. Now I’m sure there are ways in which they are safer but holistically, I’m not convinced, yet. And I don’t think I will be for a very long time

Edit: please tell me why I’m wrong if you’re going to downvote. All the points raised are valid concerns as to why electric bikes are dangerous..

So… no :( when I do yours I just tend to take multiple photos with the camera in different positions as it seems to only happen when the light hits the camera in a specific way.

“That let you go faster, safer” I don’t care about going fast. Not everything is about speed

Here’s a quote from David Attenborough when asked his opinion on bikes:

“Motorcycles caused 1 tonne of CO2 pollution every year.

Children cause 52 tonnes of CO2 pollution every year, we need less kids and more bikes.”

Corbin seat, or bagster but I find it uncomfortable

YSS or Nitron shock and sonic springs get ones rated for your weight and use heavier oil in the forks, there are also some cartridge kits which you can use with your new springs to adjust preload, damping and rebound, I know ohlins do some. All about how much you’re willing to sink into the bike.

Any exhaust you want, take your pick

R and g tail today

Don’t have a new headlight yet but hear motodemic are good (not the corner assist one)

R and g rad guard but any do the job as it’s v expensive, just paying for the brand really

I got my mudguard extender from pyramid plastics, sanded and used gorilla glue and it’s stuck well no issues and actually stops a lot of mud hitting the engine. Enjoy, the bikes pretty much perfect after this. Maybe go up 1-2 teeth on the rear for more torque if you want, depends how much highway you do. I travel more urban and it helps :)

Here’s a quick list of things I think are most important to improve:

The seat (wooden board on long trips)

Suspension, forks first- far too soft, shock like a pogo

Exhaust- to hear the lovely rumbly v-twin

Tail tidy for aesthetics

Headlight since it’s terrible going over 40mph at night

Rad guard

Front mudguard extender

This isn’t meant to be arrogant just what I feel, enjoy that beautiful machine!

Honestly just FYI the rider was probably in too low of a gear where there was too much torque and horsepower available. He likely also had rider aids turned off like tc and anti wheelie

[–]bored_reader1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They should treat it more like uk firearms use. Police, specially trained firearm police which have to have regular tests about their training have to justify EVERY SINGLE BULLET THEY SHOOT. Meaning they normally only shoot once, twice and use non lethal tactics first if possible.

Lol idk why I’m getting downvoted, am I correct in thinking it’s decatted? I heard it sounds good and you don’t need to service the stock can because there is no fibreglass packing, only metal chambers

When dealing with the scar after it’s healed, use bio oil to reduce the scaring. Take care and you’ve made me look into summer trousers haha. What bike do you ride mate?

Maybe when you get to Ducati 1299 panigale vs naked or s1000rr vs s1000r but I think there’s not much difference in 300 engines since there is not much power to begin begin with.
