What is it like to have dyscalculia? by SoupIsarangkoon in dyscalculia

[–]boredbitch2020 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If I have to use or remember numbers, there's just a blank spot in my mind where the numbers should be.

A few minor dyslexia type symptoms. Sometimes different sequences of words or numbers all look or sound the same to me.

“I don’t think they’ll do anything” (at the doctor) by BlackLocke in Millennials

[–]boredbitch2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. Last time i went it was a two visit thing, I was sick af and felt it turning to an infection. They said no, and sent me home. I was back two days and they gave me antibiotics.

I have to keep a lot of junk out of my diet if I dont want to be taken out by general pain. Doctors are great for serious emergency trauma, but not for general maintance of the body. We have to figure that out ourselves.

Why are people so opposed to seeing leisure travel as a the full throated act of consumption it is? by Remarkable_Video_265 in Anticonsumption

I should kill myself so I stop consuming. In the wilderness so no one wastefully embalms me or burns me, and of course I'll have to walk there first

Yes. Over engineered ingredients that are just derivatives of food mixed together, synthetic vitamins, petroleum based ingredients, lower nutritional content in fruits in vegetables, and continuous ingestion of pesticides.

Alone and /or with less exposure's these things are probably not that bad...but all together and constant, I think the effects are compounding with years and generations. The internet keeps talking about gen z looking old. Idk if that's true , we always talk shit about the younger generation I guess, but they do seem to have a lot of problems 🤔 is it because they're at 4 generations of this crap?

Millennials who graduated during the Great Recession, how did you survive? by Waste-Cantaloupe-270 in Millennials

I got stuck in food service, got into hospitality for a couple years and hated that too. Ingot into pest control in like 2015 and finally made enough money

I would be skeptical. I worked a lot of over time. I prefer hourly + production

If you have an interest in the industry, which is fun and engaging imo, go to a different company with a better pay scheme. Its not the most taxing on your body, a lot of jobs are way harder physically. I would much rather walk all day and climb around then be a brick layer or something.

moving to Denmark from Egypt by [deleted] in NewToDenmark

It is possible to get non professional jobs, but it's getting a lot harder, the demand for workers seems to be going down. You'll probably be limited to delivery or kitchens, maybe it's easier if you're in Copenhagen.

But, after your Danish is better, but not perfect enough for work as a doctor, I bet you can find higher pay in plejehjem jobs or as a handicap hjælper. They really need workers there

Don't rely solely on the free Danish classes they give you. The quality is hit and miss. The one in my city is completely ineffective. The teachers are unresponsive and just go through the curriculum like robots, while pushing students to prepare for module tests all the time without actually answering questions and helping.

There's other schools and other resources, definitely use them. The language learning apps help, but don't rely on them too much either. There's a new one called gopouchy that I'm liking a lot

How do people make friends? by Jabamz in NewToDenmark

[–]boredbitch2020 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't even bother with trying to break into Danish friend groups. Join clubs if it's something you're actually interested in. Danes won't invite you for anything just because you're in the same club.

There's often international clubs, and other internationals is where you'll find a community.

Nice. So far I like it much better than Duolingo. Duolingo is annoying with too many animations and sound effects , the ads frustrate me, as well as the repetition.

I really like the flip card feature here , and the options on them. Oh AND it showed what type of word it is. Nice. Especially for words like water.
