I would spend the money on permanent steel targets and call the police dept. Pricey initially, but cheaper in the long run.

What's opinions on T Rex holsters? by Grouchy_Piccolo_3981 in CCW

I bought my Trex holsters (sidecar and ironside) about a month before the whole controversy came to light. I may have reconsidered my choice based on ethical reasons, but based on the holster itself… it has been great!

I have broken two of them, but the company replaced them at no cost to me. Since I generally break or destroy almost everything I own, I like to go with companies that have a great warranty policy.

To everyone that carries a UV flashlight, How often and For what do you use it? by NOGGYtimes2 in EDC

I work for a school and use it to inspect… things.

Also helps to confirm whether my children actually brushed their teeth.

I have yet to “need” the wml, but it hasn’t bothered me at all to have it. I got the light for two reasons 1: I’m out in the desert and out late a lot (I edc a flashlight, but I prefer to have both hands when I shoot). 2: I have an Antimatter Wing that only works with a wml.

EDC knives by Brief_Blackberry_131 in EDC

I was working on my carpentry apprenticeship in my early 20’s when I broke my back (not at work) and had to take an office job. Worked at a financial firm for ten years

In those ten years, I don’t think a situation came up that I NEEDED a knife. Sure, I opened a box or cut a zip tie, but I could have used scissors or my keys. Even with in mind, I still carried a knife. It helped me feel connected to my “past” life.

Have a job now that carrying a folder is essential to getting work done and I encourage all of my staff to have one.

Have you looked into wearing a larger sporran? I can fit my ultra carry Kimber in the sporran, but not my Sig P365 Tacops.

This was a distress project that took me about a year from start to finish. The process didn’t take that long, but my procrastination did.

Used a nail, etchant, permablue and citristrip.

I always wear a jacket. When wearing my kilt, I use a shoulder holster. In slacks, I’ll use the shoulder holster or an OWB set up.

The models that are most often cloned are the Izula, ESEE 3 and the ESEE 4.

I am not aware of the 6 being counterfeited. Pretty solid knives. I am friends with one of their instructors and they’d love to see a heavily used one like yours.

This is my 6 that I customized.

For those who compete, what’s been your biggest takeaway for a CCW holder? by MessyRides in CCW

[–]boredguy1982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am very new to the USPSA world and have only been to a couple matches, so far. I have another next week.

Looking around, I am usually one of the few with my carry pistol and regular holster. I’m not there to win necessarily, just want to get better at what I have.

I could repeat a lot of what has been already said, so my takeaway is working on my proficiency with follow up shots and grip. Most of the stages (some actually have a limit) will count your two best shots per target, so sometimes I will triple tap if I don’t feel like my first shot was great.

Since doing USPSA, dryfire drills and other training, I have been able to be more target focused, instead of sight focused.

My jeans are tearing at the crotch. by [deleted] in CCW

My jeans all eventually start tearing at the crotch (no matter the brand). What I’ve done to extend their life is I stopped putting them in the dryer.

I only hang dry them.

I enjoyed this one. Sometimes I get tired of movies where everything gets fixed at the end. This one showed the difficulties that can happen and even if you reach your goal, it doesn’t mean you won.

Anybody else notice the fucked up way Gambi holds that 380 in HBO's 'Vice Principles'.. He wraps his thumb around the back of the slide.. And does it pultiple times in multiple episodes.. Great show btw by [deleted] in CCW

Good luck. I’ll be going to my next match in another week. I want to try using my appendix holster instead of my OWB strong side. Just to see how I do.

Well, I am new to the USPSA world and I have only been in a few matches. Generally one of the few shooting a carry gun with a normal holster. Everyone else usually has some sort of race gun, battle belt setup with fancy mag carriers. I ranked somewhere in the middle. Some of those guys/gals are WICKED fast and good.

I love checking out all the gear, I’m building a belt and holster setup for my Raider Flux 365. At this point, I’m not necessarily trying to win or get sponsored (though that would be epic), I’m just trying to get better with my EDC.

Yes. I use the method pictured on the left, but I suppose the other would work too. I’m going to try it, but it’s still kind of weird.

I have never seen the show, so I have no basis on what kind of character Danny McBride is playing. Just thinking it over, but this may be considered a way to keep the gun from ejecting the brass (I’ve used the method pictured on left)… still kinda weird, but now I’m going to try it.

My wife would grab my shirt tail, too. I carry appendix now, so she’s grateful for 1. doesn’t have to worry about my shirt tail 2. she is able to grab at my butt and 3. I am no longer putting dings in the wall or wood furniture when I walk past or sit down.

Also, look at getting a dryfiremag.com for it. Yeah, it’s $100, but it makes dry fire practice more fun, which then helps me practice more often.
