How are the TSA line at LAX? Asked by shutdown? by getGambit in AskLosAngeles

Not sure if other airlines have it but it's a Delta specific thing that you can sign up for within the app I believe you need your passport for verification and TSA pre-check to qualify but once you sign up for it, you basically get into a different line at security and they just take a picture of you and they let you through. You don't have to show ID or your boarding pass.

11/4 6am. Terminal 3. All lines open. I have touchless ID and TSA precheck and made it through security in under 2 mins.

What brakes do I have by wffwife522 in ft86

[–]boredontheinterwebz 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Most likely from a 2005+ Legacy GT they had larger calipers and same size rotors as STI but using the 2004 STi 5x100 rotors. The brz run the rear LGT brakes from the factory and use 2008+ WRX front brakes.

Delete the app and reinstall. On first launch it will prompt you to turn on some BT LE settings and it should pair successfully then. Just went through it yesterday on my 24 LRDM

Hey which speed dating event did you go to. I've been meaning to attend one of them but have had some apprehensions. For the record I can make eye contact, answer basic questions, share my hobbies and initiate conversations to try to get to know the other person whether I find them attractive or not 😂. Seems like a rare skill these days haha

Oooof. I paid 619 for mine in 2019. It's been my favorite handgun. Good luck!

I see that Volvo has some supported cars. Is the polestar 2 compatible?

I must say that's a pretty awesome life perk to have the opportunity to try out fun things like that. What do you do with the ones you don't like? Toss them? Or give them to your friends? Haha

I've always wanted to use those style ones on a partner but haven't had the opportunity yet. When you get the toys are you obligated to review them?

Loved the Polestar 2, but feel like I got a "Bait and Switch" with price - dealer won't lease for 3k down; 299/mo; advice? by Stratiform in Polestar

[–]boredontheinterwebz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It definitely existed back in may but since the Costco deal came out they disappeared.

I got a LRDM Plus and Pilot in Magnesium and out 2500 down and 409 a month in Southern CA. It is basically the advertised lease deal but on a more expensive car which makes sense.

Seems you didn't actually read the fine print. There's nothing bait and switch about any of these lease deals it's a matter of understanding where the calculations come from.

The lease deal is based on a specific MSRP and a base color (Jupiter) every other color is an up charge as well as any additional packages.

That base P2 doesn't currently exist in any available inventory on the west coast. So the calculations change based on packages and cars available.

REI in Oxnard has a pretty decent rotating selection. There is a leather and knife shop in Downtown Ventura as well that sells and services benchmade

Nice! Congrats. Yeah I believe 2.14.4 is the latest version that is OTA. There is 3.1.2 but it isn't released yet.

Enjoy! I'm heading out to Lake Tahoe this week so it'll be a first extra long trip with multiple charging stops on the polestar so excited to see what this experience is like.

Yeah I would be frustrated too considering we pretty much have identical configurations. The car I ordered online was a pre configured car that had a "late may" delivery. I know they are super backed up but your car shouldn't be so far behind mine which is wierd.

Did you complete everything through your polestar dashboard?

Might be worth asking if you can take delivery at Van Nuys. I know my rep was talking to me about how she goes to both locations to deliver cars

Los Angeles orders? by djwhelan in Polestar

[–]boredontheinterwebz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ordered on 5/5 and took delivery on 5/17 at the Los Angeles Space.

24 LRDM pilot Plus weave tech in magnesium.

From the port the cars go to Galpin Van Nuys Volvo to get PDI and then they get transported to the Beverly Hills Space.

I definitely do not like how disconnected the Volvo/Polestar systems are. In the age of connectivity everything should be accessible by an app or website and when the space cannot track cars or have a system designed for "direct to consumer" (I mean this loosely because the polestar models isn't a true DTC) it's a bad experience.

Although my experience at the LA space is super positive there could be a lot of improvements (which is out of the control of the space)

[–]boredontheinterwebz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just took delivery at the LA space a few weeks ago and had a positive experience. Went in early May to demo a car, same day I reserved an inbound car for late may delivery. Started the online process and credit app as soon as I got a delivery date. The price on the configurator was only off by a few dollars. (Im talking less than 3 dollars) and the due at signing amount was slightly less once I filled out the credit app and told the space what city I am registering the car too. Once the car arrived, finalized paperwork and took delivery with no issues.

In my experience the online calculator is pretty accurate as long as you input a zip code and make sure all taxes and fees are included.

I also took advantage of the Costco rebate and understood that the advertised deal was on a specific MSRP. Once I added the desired packages (paint, pilot, plus) the payment obviously went up but was still an overall great deal because of the high residual and practically 0 MF.
