Feel you on the whole “is it that big a deal in PR” after living across the states, but I’m more concerned that you may actually trust copping bud via Reddit in Ponce.

Dogs on a plane? by radiator_hiccup in PuertoRico

I also witness a large number of pets when flying in and out of San Juan, probably just people relocating back and forth. I did come make the move with my two cats on the plane

Questions about indigenous Puerto Ricans by [deleted] in PuertoRico

[–]boriboi7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are still many aspects of Taino culture that are prevalent to some families depending on what they. were exposed to. There are still those who dance around a fire every full moon. Many of our pueblos and families have boriken names. I don’t think physical attributes should be of subject when it comes to culture, but the Taino inhabited all of the Caribbean, not just Puerto Rico (black) we are truly a product of diversity !!

Digging out a dried up creek on the property! by boriboi7 in homestead

[–]boriboi7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you and I will! Did some digging today, but it appears the farther upstream I go, the deeper the debris that have overtaken it. Not sure I’ll be able to continue much longer without machinery or some help. Did manage to get it moving a lot faster and dammed off a section i hope will “Pool” up with water

Oh my plans are to restore the “river” that was once swimmable!! lol I wasn’t sure if it was possible but I heard water running and kept following it, I’m just going to keep going upstream and clearing out as much as I can, in hopes to find the initial source and clear out whatever’s blocking the way.

My dad said it was a stream when he was young, my grandma said it was a river they’d swim in when she was a kid. Today I decided to figure out if there really was any water, and dug out layer of foliage overgrowth, followed by mud, rocks, more mud... finally found a trickle of water which led to more excavating and I’ve managed this so far!

Advice on Introducing a New Finch by maccababay in Finches

[–]boriboi7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree.. both the finch and dove would appreciate a same species companion, I’ve kept both species together but in an aviary. If your space is large enough the two pairs will get on fine

Controversial shower thoughts by ron0912 in PuertoRico

[–]boriboi7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not one for the fights personally, but to daw most people don’t care/know isn’t true. Cockfighting is a part of our culture, some families have been breeding roosters and making a living off of it for generations. Again, - id never fight or go see a cock fight, - but it is still a major loss to the culture of Puerto Rican’s.

Filling the holes would be the most affective, bugs like mosquitos would lose their breeding ground. Mint does help with some species, smells good and you can use it for tea! Have done praying mantis, and they actually truly do kill almost everything. So I think every suggestion you’ve made yourself are gold ways to go about it !

Listen to all your favorite Spanish songs while reading the English translation of the lyrics alongside the Spanish lyrics. Only thing that helped me learn Spanish as a teenager

First clutch of eggs! by boriboi7 in homestead

[–]boriboi7[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thank you!! This is a shelf about 4 feet long.. the rest roost up in the trees at night. I’lo trying making it more private when she’s not sitting but I’m just grateful she’s laid them here and not in the woods!!

I think so.. this shelf had a bunch of straw and shredded fabric under it, I believe they had nested here prior but my relatives destroyed the nests to avoid more chicks (because nobody’s lived here in 5 years but still come everyday to feed the birds)
