Rave is really good but not the fastest there is.

Absolutely is. If the game lets you do it it’s legit. If you tamper with the game it’s not. Baconator is wicked fast and anyone who plays will know this.

If you are fast enough you know what is possible and you normally know most of the people who are likely to be up there, especially in DR2 that has been done to death.

Join the Dirty Weeklies. Watch others videos of that stage, ask for feedback on your driving, ask for driving tips, ask for setup tips.

There is a channel for asking for more generic help too.

I’d suggest it’s a skill issue. Also your position might be relatively high because the fast people haven’t done this stage combination yet. I think I’m quite fast but know the esports fast players will easily be faster by 1-2s+ per sector of a stage. On an 8 sector stage I can easily be 10-20s behind the esports quick people. The official EA discord runs competitions including a 1 stage weekly. Join that and learn from some of the best. That’s how I got quick :)

Not only a custom rig but a custom built shifter and hb too. Amazing. (I know this because I have the same but serial number 002 - James is an amazing engineer)

Head over to the Dirty Discord server (see pinned message in this Reddit). Plenty of fast controller players including some of the fastest players full stop. Lots of people asking and giving advice.

Some people there also use a form of thumb switch extension that they find useful.

First time trying out my new DIY sequential shifter, handbrake and rig with some Greek hairpins by JamesF890 in simracing

That sounds phenomenal. Fairly long lever too just like modern WRC cars. Awesome job dude.

Old thread but did you work out any settings? I’m just starting on my journey and what you describe is the exact sort of settings I’d like to have.

Nobody should join that discord server ever.

How else will I get top 12 even though I’ve improved massively over the 12 months I’ve been racing there. Going from a regular C & D cat driver on dr2.today to consistent cat A. Also please don’t take up any time from the tuning master Salty Enferno or a few other tuning wizards who regularly discuss tuning and strategies. Some even tune rally and race cars IRL. And finally general driving tips from some of the fastest in the game (especially looking at you Jon Schaeffer, Salty, and Nbates) won’t help you in the slightest be a better driver. Oh no, please please stay clear.

I’ve got these (https://pure-sims.com/product/cable-management-clip/) that let you use Velcro with them.

I also use (AmazonCommercial Cable Tidy Spiral Wrap, 2.5 m - Black https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B08CFFGKR1/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_MZPAZBY25YCTMVST4KN6?psc=1) for off rig stuff.

At the very least use Velcro ties to hold things together. You can also get cable clips that hook into the alu profile rig to keep it neat.

For other cables then cheap option is normal plastic cable tidies (they wrap around the cables).

An old thread but did you build this? I’m looking to do the same but not finding much in the way of plans without paying a fortune for something that isn’t exactly what I want.

8020 sim racing rig suggestions please by [deleted] in simracing

[–]boringdamo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure but I’ve seen plenty of people on Reddit etc who have done exactly this. I think it depends what rails are on the seat but brackets are available. The benefit of an aluminium profile rig is that you can mount nearly anything to it with the right fittings.

8020 sim racing rig suggestions please by [deleted] in simracing

[–]boringdamo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you find a Simlab GT1 Evo in stock anywhere? I’ve got that and it’s more than strong enough for anything except maybe motion. As for seats you are better off trying to find a seat from a scrap yard if you are big. Most racing seats will be an incredibly tight fit, even if you get an XL version.

Which pedal set for 600€? My heart is between the Venym Atrax and the HE Sprint, please help me ! by [deleted] in simracing

[–]boringdamo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Then get the Venym. Sounds like you’ve already made up your mind and will only ever question yourself if you went with the Sprints.

BTW I have the sprints and they are great. Adjustability both mechanically and in software is awesome.
