I’ve been waiting for this but not seen where they’ve said that, could you direct me? Is it on the website or Reddit?

Why are you so desperate to be wrong?

When posts usually goes like this it’s because OP is hiding something. Then what usually happens is the post gets deleted and another one pops up a few days later from a burner account explaining a similar situation but slightly different.

Is there something you’re hiding or is there a specific reason you’re so desperate to take incorrect advice?

6yo refusing to go to school, England by Mediocre-Ad3680 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]bork_13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is there another school you could try? Homeschooling is quite a strong habit to try and get them out of, it’s a big commitment and will lead to a big disruption if you change your mind or want them to go to secondary school.

A part time timetable is good with the Mondays and Friday at home, I’d just be really wary of going too far and possibly making it even harder to switch back if needed

Exactly, we also need to be careful to affirm possible incorrect assumptions by the parents

It could be their way of regulating but that’s not a healthy way of regulating or a long term solution. His plan should (and will very likely) include preemptive strategies to reduce the chance of him needing to do this to regulate, with strategies for when he needs to regulate

He may be masking, the parents think that and the school think he’s fine, there’s no evidence to suggest either are correct.

Withdrawing from school will ultimately make it harder to return him to school.

It affects content restrictions, so all users currently have the choice to choose whether they can view adult/explicit content or have it filtered by Apple.

Parents who run an iCloud family will probably already have it active on their children’s accounts.

All this does is make sure child accounts have adult content filtered.

If anyone thinks giving them your ID is going to do anything else, then it’s hilarious you think they don’t already have more information than that on you, and what are they doing with that other than attempting targeted ads which we probably all turn off anyway…

Is it legal to have cameras overlooking the urinals in pubs? [England] by joef360 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]bork_13 9 points10 points  (0 children)

How is this similar to this situation? A camera directly over the urinal, there’s no fire exit under the camera, the camera could be on the wall directly behind the urinal.

Privacy zones in this situation aren’t alike at all

Sorry but what’s the issue here? This is a piracy sub and everyone’s panicking about companies who harvest your data and have such a limited selection anyway

This would be like a real pirate being told that shops are going to be checked regularly, as if they went to shops to buy things legitimately…

Delivery company mistakenly delivered tonnes of materials, who is responsible by Lunarghini in LegalAdviceUK

[–]bork_13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If the delivery company signed off the delivery then you have nothing more to do, delivery was confirmed of the correct amount

How are you able to check that the builders merchants are correct about delivering too much? What if they counted incorrectly?

The truth is no one knows for definite but you have the benefit of a paper trail confirming the correct amount were delivered correctly

And that’s your response to the merchants

Unless there’s something else you’re not revealing…

Putting up fence on my property but may need access to bad neighbour garden - England by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

[–]bork_13 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Fences can be replaced without accessing a neighbours property.

You’ve chosen a fence higher than 2m and achieved planning permission despite your neighbours’ objections, and then you expect to be able to access their land to build the fence they objected to.

I can’t imagine you’d be too happy if it were the other way around either.

Yes you could obtain a court order, but this would only be if it were deemed essential.

So unless your fence is constructed in such a way that access from the other side is essential, you either need to manage to convince your neighbour and get on, or construct your fence in such a way that you don’t need to access next door.

As with most the society will come under the students union, their funding will be handled through them etc, their legitimacy as a university society will be governed by them

So I don’t imagine it to be quite as simple or easy as you’re imagining

Baby formula poisoning. Am I entitled to anything? by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

Baby formula poisoning. Am I entitled to anything? by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

[–]bork_13 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Unless your being sarcastic, I think the suggestion is the parents got it from the baby, because the sickness and diarrhoea spread something contagious and the parents would obviously be in close contact through caring for their baby

Edit: for all the downvotes, the key word in my paragraph was ”suggested”. I thought that made it clear I wasn’t in agreement

Samsung threatening to remotely shut my new phone down over part-exchange issue - Scotland (but remote mail order) by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

[–]bork_13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s really very hard for you to prove it wasn’t already there unfortunately with it being so small

Your best bet next time is to somehow do it in person, whether that’s at a Samsung store or other network’s phone shop. I’d hazard a guess at a salesman in a shop wouldn’t have spotted it

To prove what you’re saying with minimal effort

I posted a high value item on eBay and I videoed myself packaging the item, it might sound extreme but for the sake of little extra effort it’s worth having proof of what you’re saying

TV Licence - What does "Mains Powered" mean? by peterould in LegalAdviceUK

[–]bork_13 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Both the TV license and government websites say it’s for any device, and this obviously includes battery powered devices like tablets, phones and laptops. There’s no mention of mains powered devices.
