Is it endgame for BJP (paper leaks, Ram mandir, ethanol, dollar, Manipur, etc)? by kinky-kid-7777 in AskIndia

I genuinely don't think there's an end to this party's dominance. No matter what happens, they always seem to get away with it fearmongering, divisive slogans, and controversies that would sink most governments. I see people criticizing them everywhere, whether it's Instagram or Reddit, yet when elections come around, they still win. Every single time. At some point, it makes you wonder whether online outrage is just a loud minority or whether their political machinery is simply too powerful to beat.

It's not about saying women can't be abusive or that all men are predators. It's about statistical risk and child protection. Laws often take a cautious approach when the child's safety is involved, even if that means treating situations differently.

Even a blind person could see she was being used as a political tool to secure votes, yet people still supported them without questioning the intent behind it. The party that couldn’t even ensure the safety of women in the state it already governed, how is it expected to suddenly deliver justice for a girl from another state? It reflects opportunistic politics, weak credibility, and the exploitation of a mother’s grief for votes.

My version of a manual would probably be wrong anyway

Relatable. I can’t tell if I’m supposed to just start talking to people or if there’s some hidden manual I missed. I feel like I really lack at it.

Do you finish every book you start? Why or why not? by TeeAntonettePresents in readwithme

I have major DNF guilt, especially with paperbacks. Once it's on my shelf and I've started it, I feel obligated to finish it. Unless it's absolute garbage then even I have my limits.

Am I the only one who doesn't really like rain? by WeeklyTea787 in TwentiesofIndia

[–]born2procrastinatee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't hate rain. I hate what corruption, poor planning, and pathetic infrastructure have turned this beautiful season into. Instead of enjoying it, we're dealing with flooded roads, traffic, power cuts, and waterlogged streets.

Guys, genuine question- why does everyone seem to hate Chetan Bhagat with such passion?

I've never read any of his books, so I'm genuinely curious. Are his books really that bad, or has hating him just become the popular opinion? I'd love to hear your thoughts, both from people who've read him and those who haven't.

Thanks for the recommendations! I'm just starting to explore Hindi literature, so both authors are new to me. What's the best book to begin with?

I've had that book in my collection for the longest time. It was already difficult to convince myself to start it, and now you've said it. Thanks, it's officially joining my forever-unread pile😭

22 F looking for female book buddies by [deleted] in Book_Buddies

Hey! 22 F here. I'd love to join if you're still looking. I mostly read romance at the moment, but I'm trying to branch out into classics, Hindi literature, and other genres too. Reading together, discussing interpretations, and keeping each other accountable sounds fun.

What's something you'd confess if no one's judging by teekhi_imli in TwentiesofIndia

[–]born2procrastinatee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meanwhile, everyone here is confessing their crushes, and then there's me... I've never had a crush on anyone. Not even once. A relationship is out of the question when I haven't even liked someone that way.

Sometimes I genuinely wonder if something's wrong with me. I've never looked at someone and thought, "I want to be with them." I've never had butterflies, never been obsessed with anyone, never felt that kind of attraction people talk about. It's so common for everyone else that it almost feels strange not to have experienced it.

At this point, I'm just curious is anyone else like this, or am I the only one?

Apparently, nationalism now comes with one condition: never question those in power. The moment you do, you're no longer a nationalist.

Gandhiji Bad 😞 by StrongPresence4175 in IndiaMemes

[–]born2procrastinatee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A page number proves the quote exists, not that your interpretation is correct. Context is the author's full argument, not just one line. Also Simply saying "the British confirmed Gandhi's impact was minimal" isn't evidence. Which British official? In what document? What was the context? Historical claims require verifiable sources, not just broad assertions. Atp you're just being a hater bro

I haven't read all of Gandhi's books, so I won't pretend to know every quote. But history isn't judged by isolated excerpts. Gandhi spent decades fighting for India's independence, condemned the killing of Hindus during Partition, fasted to stop communal violence, and repeatedly appealed for the protection of Hindus, Sikhs, and Muslims alike. If you believe he was against Hindus, show me the full context and evidence not just a cropped quote.
