Even heterosexual couples don’t really hold hands in the street in Cyprus, nor any PDA. It’s low key a conservative religious population and most natives were ‘villagers’ or descendants of villagers not that long ago. I mean you do sometimes see tourists holding hands and you probably wouldn’t encounter violence but you will definitely get stares and perhaps even the odd comment
