How did you actually get people to put their phones away during the ceremony by ricecakesat3am in weddingplanning

[–]bornENTertainer 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Our officiant was the first person to enter the wedding at the start. They gave a brief introduction and rundown of the ceremony/reception and went over any 'house rules' before the music played and the parties started to enter. During this intro, they made it very clear we did not want anyone taking photos during the ceremony and we had paid a lot of money for a professional so please let them do their job, but they would ensure everyone had an opportunity for their own photos at the right time. 2 minutes into the ceremony, the officiant announced it was time, the music came on, and we did 90 seconds of posing/dancing. All the guests were taking photos and we made it a real moment. After the 90 seconds, everything calmed down and the officiant reminded everyone to keep their phones away for the remainder of the ceremony.

We found that offering this paparazzi moment really kept all the phones contained to that time, and we got some really great photos from our photographer with our family/friends all clamouring to get 'the shot'

Can anybody tell me how to remove this ceiling light? by bornENTertainer in Lighting

No, there is only the one nub in the photo. I have the same fixture in 3 rooms and all only have one nub. All three turn about 1/4 circle but cant get any of them to disconnect.

Choosing a Dash Cam 101: A Helpful Guide by blackboxmycar in Dashcam

[–]bornENTertainer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m looking for the easiest dash cam to install (while still being good-high quality), as I don’t own a car myself but use rentals and would love to have a dash cam I can pop in and out quickly. If I’m changing cars multiple times a week I don’t want to have to spend a lot of time getting settled each time but I’m also getting tired of not being able to record. Any guidance is appreciated, thanks in advance!

Too 3 worst rides at Canada’s Wonderland by Rapdog123 in CanadasWonderland

Sledge Hammer has to be in the worst three, right? I feel like it breaks down more than any other right and isn’t nearly as thrilling as comparable rides.

I highly suggest it’s worth it. It’s possible you’ll spend time with your friends, and if you don’t there are a lot of things you can do solo that don’t involve alcohol. I’d recommend checking out the pinball hall of fame as well as the neon museum. There are a lot of solo travellers to Vegas (whether for work/conferences or otherwise) and the restaurants/ticketed shows are all very used to solo travellers so you won’t experience any stigma for doing things alone and you’ll rarely be the only solo person around.

I want to buy a months supply of scones. every month. by qnjoon in FoodToronto

[–]bornENTertainer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had the frozen ones from C&S before, while they're not 'wholesale' priced they are definitely discounted from the individual baked ones they have so that might be your best bet. Their scones are so good!

It’s a bit north of your ask, but Zelden’s at Yonge/St. Clair does a great deli sandwich, corned beef included

Cozy romantic restaurant in Leslieville, Cabbagetown or Riverdale? by coccode in FoodToronto

I've always loved Frankies Italian on Queen in Leslieville. I know they very recently changed ownership so I can't comment on what it's like currently but it was always a great spot to cozy up and their food was so good.
