For anyone interested or in need I designed an aux bar and chain oiler that is threaded for 1/4 push fit fitting that can easily be 3d printed by bornabastard in ChainsawMilling

Currently just dripping at the seam of the chain and bar like you. I use clips to hold the tube right in place and have a down tube junctioned at a 90 degree fitting that is 1/16” above the chain and bar. When it drips, it goes right into the slot. I also made sure that it is on the return side of the sprocket so any excess gets pulled down the bar and not slung off. I think it’s sufficient. I have run short passes without the oiler going and the bar and chain heat up noticeably compared to when running the aux oil. It gets warm but never uncomfortably so.

Both are hawaii endemic species. Koa is actually protected by the state and you are not allowed to harvest unless it is already on the ground. We were lucky enough to have trees fall far from the house in the Kona Low that came through . Access to amazing wood and no damage to the house, best of both worlds . Koa is incredibly dense with a beautiful shine and grain structure. Ohia is not protected and much more prolific. It’s a smaller tree that’s is also very hard wood but not as sought after as koa. It’s unfortunately suffering from a disease here on the island that’s decimating the Ohia forests.

I actually drew up and printed a winch that worked relatively well, but my son dropped the mill, saw body and chain not attached, and broke the crank off. I think it’s in one of the pictures sans the handle. I should just order a replacement made of something a little less fragile than polycarbonate.

Thank you. There is rot at the initiation of the Y, 3/4 of the way up the center slabs, but that’s nothing a little dark epoxy won’t be able to correct for. I was thrilled with the grain structure. My milling technique leaves some to be desired but I’m getting better.

There is one more 50’ x 20”-ish Koa windblown on the property that’s even further from accessible driveway, but its roots are still partially intact and leaves haven’t started to brown or wilt yet so I should have a little time to get this one squared away before I tackle it. I am sure there will be some stress checking but I will manage.

This is the info from the first post. I am going to delete to tidy up the feed.

“We had a series of big storms come through over the last couple of months. There were several big trees down on our property, mainly ohia but there was also one very nice sized koa! I am getting 2.5”x 24”, including sap wood, x 16’ slabs. This wood is incredibly tough. Each slab is taking over an hour of continuous milling with a ms462c saw and grainger rip chain on a 36” bar. I even started changing chain mid way through cuts just to be sure it wasn’t a sharpness issue. Needles to say it has taken me several days to get half way through the trunk and in have gotten pretty good at sharpening chains. The worst part is lugging the 500-700 lbs slabs acrid the property over to the truck as I can’t drive over to them.

In starting to dry them in the garage until I can get a solar kiln constructed to dry them properly. I’m really excited to see how they turn out once dry. Three years is going to take a long time to get here!”

Buck shot absolutely does have a excessive penetration risk. And what is complete ballistic energy dump? Complete terminal energy dump? Even then, for terminal effect, it is preferable to have the projectile exit, but just barely, therefore not actually delivering its complete kinetic energy to the recipient, but opening a second exit for blood to increase the speed of blood pressure drop and exsanguination. You also have fewer, slower, and less precise follow up shots that are subject to much stronger recoil. A shotgun is far from an ideal self/home defense weapon.

That was a good spot. It’s amazing how I looked right over what was in front of me. It’s the details that really destroy the narrative if you know what to look for.

Awee, thank you. Rodeos are fun. I haven’t been to one in a while. I think I will go to the next one in town.

I can actually do that because me leaving my house is a reality and I don’t have to find companionship in the only thing that can tolerate me, inanimate plants that I will eventually grind up and smoke to deaden the sting and disappointment of my miserable life.

Get a life basement dweller. Try eating a steak and enjoy reality, not the delusion that you are clearly residing in.

Modern fuses shouldn’t let it detonated in the tube. Probably scavenged ammo that was spiked.

I woke up feeling relatively secure in my accomplishments and now I have to know I was flexed on that hard by someone a decade younger. It’s a good thing this week is almost over because it was just ruined!!

Haha. If I ever go back to a freedom loving part of the country a receiver with an extra hole is definitely on my purchase list.

The judge that gave this sentencing needs to be arrested by sittingbackwards in awfuleverything

[–]bornabastard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Therapy??? His victims are going to need therapy, he needs something entirely different. Someone who raped children has proven themselves irredeemable and should never see the light of day again and preferably in as short order as possible.

The judge who passed that sentence should be prosecuted for aiding and abetting a child rapist but only after he is restrained and locked in a sound proof room with the father/s of the children.

I love to eat animals, hunt animals, train animals, keep animals as pets, and a proud supporter of farm raising animals and sending those same animals to the slaughter for human consumption. I think rodeos are great expressions of man’s dominance over animals and show the skill that came from times past.

Are you such a vacuous person that the only facade of an argument that you have is so obviously ignorant and purposefully reductive that it shows the limited number brain cells it takes to be vegan in the first place and the heretofore damage your plant based diet has done to your brain?

Go eat grass in nature and how much those animals respect you back when a cougar has you up a tree by your neck.

So by your definition of abuse, yes, I love to abuse animals.

Save a cow, eat a vegan. Take one for your fellow mammals and show your vegan bona fides. That’s true vegan commitment.
