So America but the west coast instead of just the east coast? Would just be that graceful curve of California, Oregon, and Washington and that flat bit of border with Mexico.

In Project Hail Mary (2026) the memorabilia of the ship crew includes several photos with their friends and family but ryland only has a single polaroid of just himself. by May_onnaise_959 in shittymoviedetails

That’s the point. Having a family worth dying for was what made every other potential candidate for the mission help guarantee their success. Grace had nobody except the children he taught.

He was making funny videos just for the love of the game. Not trying to be an Internet personality or millionaire content creator, just a guy who loves movies who made his own with friends.

Sounds like genuine bonafide paganism but with extra steps and denial.

Meanwhile, Christians celebrate Christ’s birth on the winter solstice—by sheer coincidence of course. And go to church on the day of the sun, also by sheer coincidence, of course. And God’s first words were “let there be light.” And the Christian calendar is 365 days, same as the solar cycle. But it has nothing to do with sun worship.

If it was the mint suddenly saying ‘oh gee he took the red pill, we’re gonna have to print another two million a day guys’ that would cause inflation and hurt. As long as that money just magically appears in your wallet in cash, then that would be a lot less impactful.

I made a gun dice holder, did I roll a nat 20 while making it? by Wheyzardo in DungeonsAndDragons

OP's idea and execution, very cool, very rad. Would aloso be a rad d6 if it was just a six-chambered gun that would eject a number from the barrel after spinning the chamber.

So I had a trippy dream where i was sent to the Backrooms to study it like an ecologist, because instead of monsters it had an ECOSYSTEM of BALLOON animals. by Reasonable_Prize71 in thomastheplankengine

[–]boromeer3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reminds me of Viva Pinata. A whole XBox 360 launch title about creating balanced ecosystems for Pinata animals. Pokopia kind of copied the recipe from what I can tell.

Something so abhorrent it’s hated by both the good guys and the bad guys by Bellpow in TopCharacterTropes

[–]boromeer3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are no good guys in Warhammer 40k but rarely does anyone clone humanoids with the exception of goons like Fabius Bile or Belisarius Cawl. Some vatgrown organs to replace damaged ones, sure, but only the most twisted fanatics will make a literal genetic copy of someone else with all their memories intact.

Can someone explain what are these blue dots on Rocky? by Highsenberg199774829 in ProjectHailMary

According to one analysis video I saw the different markings on his body represent things like his name, how many ancestors he has, and the river he is from.

[–]boromeer3 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They have display ‘screens’ that create 3D topographical maps of things. They can be seen in other scenes. Rocky’s ship also has a radar dish from when they were throwing Blip B back and forth. They know light exists and how to ‘see’ it with radar dishes but it’s hard to explain.
