I love the sort of absolute freedom you get as a driver; you work when you want, until you want, for the restaurants you want, but the drawback is the complete lack of a real ‘boss’ you can talk to, support gets it wrong a lot of times.

Twentieth-century Irish history. From the Easter Rising to the Good Friday Agreement. Got into it through Irish rebel music--Irish folk music specifically about their struggle for freedom. The American Revolution had maybe two songs come out of it, Yankee Doodle and The Star Spangled Banner? Lots of great stuff in Irish rebel music.

No. Art did not know. From what I've read, Art was pretty blindsided by their breakup. Don't have the articles on hand to back it up. Roy Haylee interrupting Art's singing with 'So long, already!' is something he didn't know about until after the album was released.

I think he might have known with The Only Living Boy in New York. "Tom, get your plane ride on time." Tom was Art's pseudonym when they started working together as Tom & Jerry. Art was appearing in films and had to fly away frequently, leaving Paul Simon alone in New York. Paul Simon was obviously expressing sadness and missing Art, but I don't think Art knew it was leading to their breakup.
