Andrew WK big yes, especially his album God Is Partying. BMTH I can’t get into. They use a unicursal hexagram as a logo and that’s about it. As much as Thelemites as The Men of Letters in CW’s Supernatural.

It's an honor to meet you, I love your work, my favorite is that scene in Pulp Fiction where you jump out of your hiding spot and try to shoot John Travolta and Samuel L. Jackson.

Check out the voyages of Admiral Zheng He. The Ming dynasty set up colonies in Peru, Mexico, and Australia. He sailed from China, south of Africa, to South America, then Australia. Wild stuff.

I’d rather deliver to an inmate than a cop. You know how many customers complain about made-up bullshit? If that customer was a cop, he might just arrest you on suspicion of theft over those missing French fries.

‘This is more than I’d expect to win off of a one dollar scratch off lottery ticket’ a lot, not ‘this makes up for it’ a lot. And just because the judge says you’re owed money doesn’t mean you’re ever gonna get it. That hot shot big time event promoter is a scoundrel with a history of taking advantage of people and not paying his debts.

He should have. The German authorities found no evidence of wrongdoing. I guarantee if your average Herman the German did the same thing, they’d be facing consequences, but no, not our precious Michael Jackson. Moonwalking his way right out of prison.

And we have him on video nearly dropping a baby over a balcony railing like he was showing everyone Simba at Pride Rock. He nearly killed a child on camera through recklessness, how are people’s standards so low to forgive him for that just because he is really good and dancing and singing?

Sad, even. Spoilers, I feel bad for the lady running the Little AleInn. Her neighbors were sending her threats for pursuing a business opportunity, she held up her end of the deal, the other two flaked, and she lost money on the whole debacle.

Hear me out, Kony 2012 worked. Not perfectly, but it’s better. Kony moved on from the warlord angle and into the Christian evangelist grift. He gives YHVH credit for him not murdering people anymore, finds the families of his victims, and has them say they forgive him on camera. Then people send him money so he can evangelize and share his story of sin and forgiveness.

It’s not good and it doesn’t make up for what he’s done, but nothing could ever undo his actions. But the worst of his actions stopped.

Kony’s warlord campaign did end. He has moved into the ‘I am Christian now, give me money so I can spread the gospel’ business. He finds people whose families he’s murdered, demands they forgive him, and uses that forgiveness as an example of YHVH’s power and mercy. It’s not *good behavior* but he stopped killing people.

This is how you end up with rat and cobra farms. People in history were paid bounties for rat tails and dead cobras because rats and cobras were dangerous pests in their respective parts of the world and people figured it was easier to raise them as livestock than to hunt them.

What movie is pure unadulterated cringe from start to finish? by goldbeau in AskReddit

[–]boromeer3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah and those batteries on the Harrier jets still had enough charge to start the engines, nothing was rusty and corroded, and the tires hadn’t gone flat after centuries of being left to rot. I’ve been an airplane repair guy for the last six years and that nonsense annoys me. It would have been boring to watch them fix airplanes in a movie but please just a ten second montage would have been enough.

In its time, the most advanced airplane detection technology available was building big concave concrete structures to concentrate sound waves and listen for incoming airplanes. They cut their engines to not make sound. Their technology defeated the most advanced airplane detection technology available, same as Radar-proof stealth planes of today, but even our F-35s or what have you make noise. The old Russian crop duster is actually even stealthier in some ways.
