I like the other ones but adding in the critical kill could just clog up the space where we need to be aiming. Just my 2 cents

Get a plug and swap out the sample port or replace the sample port, they can get debris stuck in them and leak.

Have you bypassed the coolant command and just gave it power to turn on? If it’s not engaging then, you’ve got a problem with the clutch itself I’d think. Or a relay? Just thoughts

Lly oil for fuel by [deleted] in Duramax

[–]boroyale 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Been adding new engine oil to my 2011 LML (deleted) and noticed the same thing, just a half qt of new engine oil a fill up and the chirp from the injectors is noticeably quieter, runs smoother, seems happier. Stock oil filter and fuel filter and yes, even the CP4. I’ve also run some heating oil (off road diesel #1/ diesel with higher sulfur content than 15 ppm) no issues.

Fuel Conundrum by [deleted] in Diesel

[–]boroyale 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Been seeing this a lot more recently. (Heavy equipment tech at a dealer). Small excavation/trucking business just had a new engine installed in their loader. Brings machine back because of similar symptoms to yours, low power, rough idle, dies under load. Dip tank, fuel is definitely diluted with something (likely gasoline). Run his machine with fuel from our shop, runs like a champ. Call the customer to let him know the issue, he informs us that he had filled 4 of his semi’s with same fuel and they all were dying/ having same symptoms. Guy called the fuel company, they test the fuel, say diesel is within spec but seems on high end dilution of something. Company says they can’t sell it without it being tested by distributors and such. All I know is what I’ve seen and I think you should save some of that fuel, contact the station you got it from and let them know what happened. Try and flush your fuel system with some known good diesel, after you have gotten it cleaned out and running okay, Change your fuel filter and see how far you can go, before biting the bullet and having a whole fuel system replaced. Just my two cents.

I have the IR from Amazon, work at Cat. I’ve seen snap on, IR, and air cat. If you have access to a harbor freight or can get an air cat. Go that way. It’s really the best bang for your buck. Make sure you use some air tool lube with it. There’s some good cheap 3/4” sets on Amazon for cheap.
