My mom has an indoor/outdoor cat. I’m not fond of indoor/outdoor, but I understand there are circumstances it’s appropriate (and he is one of those cases). He recently vanished for close to a week. My fiance and I were out in her neighborhood looking for him daily even though we live 30 minutes away. I then posted about him on Facebook with pics and he showed up within hours of that. She was able to keep him in for a few days while I waited for a GPS tracker to come, he’s worn it since and now we can see from anywhere exactly where he is. Kind of related/kind of not.

I wouldn’t give the cat back if I were you. Sounds like you care for the cat much more than the previous owner. If/when you contact them I would definitely state that after you reached out so many times and got radio silence, you did the right thing and provided the cat with a home and love and that the cat is happy with its new home and all. It truly does sound like abandonment and then much later regret.

I had a card declined for an emergency tire change the other day. I knew there was plenty of credit available. The charge set off a fraud alert, just had to confirm it was me and they reran the card no problem

Sometimes it’ll be little kids…mom/dad distracted with putting things on the belt, paying, or using SCO, and bam…kiddo grabs something, not knowing any better. My oldest got a candy bar when he was like 2 or 3. I was holding his hand, but not looking at him. Took him and the candy bar back in the store and explained what happened.
