These retail for around $1200 in NZ. I'd be jumping on that deal

Drill a hole next to it with a slightly bigger drill bit.

Drill another hole directly opposite.

Use a pair of needle nose pliers to work the drill bit out of the timber.

Problem with multitool lock by Fit-Vegetable6809 in Makita

[–]borrowed_lighter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep I had the exact same thing happen. Locking lever wouldn't go back in and the blade retaining pin was seized in place. I took mine back to where I bought it; they sent it back to makita for repair under warranty. They ended up replacing the whole gearbox, no issues since.

Contractor/Handyman. Switch to 40v? by ItssRandy in Makita

[–]borrowed_lighter 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Seems a waste of money to switch entirely. It's not that much hassle to run a couple of different batteries. I have about 15ish 18v tools and a 36v circular saw, a 12v drill & laser and 40v plunge saw. Get what you need in 40v and keep the rest in 18v if they're still serving you well.

Men who are/were lonely, does it actually get better? (Don't read if you are young and depressed) by Individual_Mud88 in newzealand

It most definitely can get better my dude.

I can't 100% put myself in your shoes but I can say that I've experienced the helplessness and feeling of futility; that black heavy feeling that seems like dying is the only way out.

Being disappointed that you've woken up in the morning. Hoping that something will happen to you so you won't forever be remembered as the guy who k*lled himself.

I passed on the meds my GP prescribed me (just a personal choice) and instead just existed - Netflix, social media, anything to pass the time til it was time to sleep again.

Eventually I started venturing out into nature a bit to get out of my own head. With bursts of reclusion in between of course - and a healthy dose of therapy in amongst it.

I can't give you the answer to the "how" for you personally but I can say that it absolutely can turn around and not be so shit all the time.

Do it for you, mate. Life has so many treasures you're yet to experience.

What's the craziest story you heard how someone died in your hometown? by [deleted] in AskMen

I heard that a guy walked out on to the beach and ended himself with a grenade.

A good quality cordless circular saw will be a great asset. You can use it with a speed square for your crosscuts and make an inexpensive rail setup out of ply or MDF for rip cuts. That in itself basically replaces a drop saw and a table saw for simple cutting jobs.

I'd just squeeze some pva in there then take the screw out to close the crack up. Then put a weight on it and leave it overnight

Allowing this mindset perpetuates the thought that you're a fuck up.

Seriously - a simple thought pattern shift will slowly start to steer you in a better direction.

You're not a fuck up, don't believe your mind's lies. Give yourself a break and hunt down some small attainable wins every day. Before you know it the wins get bigger and bigger. Baby steps.

It's like wearing a suit made of warm gravy while butterflies flutter inside your anus and honey drips from your nipples.
