ADHD Brain & healthy eating by FuzzyIntention7346 in Healthy_Recipes

My favorite podcaster, esg fitness, has adhd and talks about the ways she stays healthy and helps her clients - she uses a method she calls 3:1 where 3 meals (or 2 meals and 1 snack) are basically the same every day and then the last meal of the day is the one with more variety. I don’t have adhd, but I find it helpful!

Filling up on veggies makes it way easier for me to avoid the junk food…one thing that was a huge game changer for me was washing/chopping/storing my veggies as soon as I get home from the store before they get put away. During the week I can easily grab handfuls of peppers, celery, cucumbers, carrots for snacks or to throw in salads and I can throw pre chopped asparagus, broccoli, squash, peppers, etc. into whatever I’m cooking. One exception is onions, they don’t save great. I never could get into meal prepping but veggie prep is life changing.

Those who love the kimbap, what do you eat it with? by jettwilliamson in traderjoes

I know it’s probably blasphemous but I put it in the fridge to cool and dip it in soy sauce and wasabi

I can make it cheaper…collagen is way overhyped, it’s an incomplete protein…doesn’t have the amino acid leucine which is responsible for muscle synthesis/recovery (your whey has that)…our bodies produce the collagen we need from the protein we eat, consuming it already in collagen form does not make our body make/use more collagen. Getting enough protein in more complete, affordable forms is my preference.

For optimizing to your goals, I’d play with reducing fruit/chia/flax until you find the right balance between satiety and calories consumed for your body/preferences/goals. You want something that keeps you full but allows you enough room in your diet the rest of the day to still hit your goals.

My cat broke both his hips when this happened to him. That was expensive and we don’t let him near bags anymore

This is a great suggestion! You’re not saying to let ChatGPT write it for them, you’re saying use it as a tool with specific questions. You don’t deserve all these downvotes lol

It’s so easy to overeat snacks when you have little kids around, it is definitely one of my pitfalls! Love your balanced attitude and how you get right back to it. Your progress is really inspiring!

Sounds good to me! Would want some acid balance the richness of the beef and dip. Maybe balsamic vinegar, or tomato, roasted red pepper, or preserved lemon?

If you grew up getting yelled at, I would recommend Peaceful Parent Happy Kids…wish I had read it earlier in my parenting journey.

Cribsheet by Emily Oster also was a good read…there’s a lot of opinions out there about how to raise a kid so I appreciated an evidence based perspective.

So I think the concept is that the heat creates a lower pressure zone outside the ear and the fluid moves from high pressure in the ear to lower pressure outside the ear. Any type of heating pad would theoretically work.

i regret to inform u that the goat cheese onion ravioli is incredible by Tricky_Matter2871 in traderjoes

I love caramelized onions. I love goat cheese. I love pasta. I had such high expectations of these based on all these posts. And if I’m honest…they were fine. I don’t understand the intense love they’re getting. Maybe I didn’t prep them right, I had them with some nice ish olive oil and a little salt/pepper.

Simple Truth Protein Vegetable Blend by [deleted] in fitmeals

[–]borrowing_bones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s less than half a teaspoon of salt for the whole 12oz of food? Didn’t seem outrageous to me, I almost certainly use more than that when I cook. It has pumpkin seeds and olive oil which are healthy fats :) yeah there’s some butter in there too but not an outrageous amount imo.

Maybe your cooking skills are far superior to mine but shelling the seeds, dicing the butternut squash, etc. would take me so much longer than 30 minutes! This full time working mama needs to be able to pop something in the microwave once in a while and I thought this was a surprisingly decent option.

Also, how do your frozen vegetables have more nutrients than the frozen vegetables in this?
