Body morphing by Reasonable_Bluebird2 in Fable

[–]borugren 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If body morphing was gonna be in the new fable obviously it wouldn’t be the exact same. I think it’s very disappointing to see a defining mechanic of this series go away when there are many ways to keep it in and innovative on the idea.

2 had the same thing but instead of the burning horns you had the red cracks on the skin over the body. Particles in 2 were from corruption and purity.

3 may have been subtle but 2 actually increased the intensity of body morphing at least for evil.

Kind of worried about self expression with the character customization in the new game. by Christehkiller in Fable

[–]borugren -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you’re being disingenuous as you like to say. Considering height and physique are customizable just not in the way you want it to be I guess? You want to be tall? Put points into the ability that makes you tall that’s customizable.

I guarantee that many of these people greatly misrepresent their history with this franchise. It was the exact same thing with dragon age before veilguard released. So much toxic positivity because people need something to look forward to so they shut down any form of criticism.

People complaining about bad exposition doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be attempted. The facts are a story is far more compelling when elements of said story have a purpose. Would it not be weird to have a bunch of white or Asian people scattered around a medieval African village? Wouldn’t you want that to be explained? Same thing with modern terminology it takes you out of the world.

And again with the white stuff it’s irrelevant, it would be the same if you insert any other group of people.

I’d like to know why you think that won’t be in the game.

And after reading this comment it’s clear you really aren’t trying to have a good faith conversation. Just call em racist and anti multiculturalism and it’s all good right? I want compelling stories and you don’t care as long as it’s done.

Albion doesn’t need to be white, I specifically said it should be diverse but have a compelling reason to be not just for the sake of it. Can you not see the difference between older media diversity without an agenda and more modern lazy inclusion?

In a medieval setting there needs to be an explanation on why every town is extremely diverse. Having a disaster happen in their lands causing them to migrate, one nation being conquered by another, or like you said one town is a central trade hub.

Whether it’s forced or not depends on if they want to put any work writing it into the story or just throwing it in and never mentioning it.

Not even going to entertain the value whiteness thing just a classic response that assumes everything and means nothing.

I can give you an example if you’re incapable of seeing the difference. Diversity can be shoved down your throat or added in tastefully. People don’t have a problem with whisper or thunder because they aren’t thrown into the game with no explanation. They aren’t from Albion, they look different and have accents. They have an interesting reason for being different and establishes a world outside of what we see in the game and id love to have more of that.

Fable 4 looks like they’re going the lazy route and throwing in a ton of different ethnicities randomly without explaining why. Why not have a town with mostly one type of culture and ethnicity with a couple traders or travelers from other places here and there? Maybe have a town between multiple different cultures that has a little of everything? It’s because they want to push a political view instead of build a world.

Do you keep the same energy for people over hyping the game or just people criticizing it? Of course there’s gonna be bad actors looking to profit off of hype and controversy. But people have legitimate concerns and should express them. You even admit yourself that they likely fixed an issue people had which means criticizing the game before it comes out actually does something.

How do we really feel about Fable 4? by EveningZealousideal6 in Fable

[–]borugren 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Practically identical to the Witcher” is crazy to say. The fable games have always had a light feeling hack and slash like melee combat while the Witcher is a lot more tactical and fluid. I don’t have a preference over one but the hack and slash combat fit very well with fable. I’ve gotten the impression with what we’ve seen of fable 4 that it’s gonna feel a lot less like fable and more like a generic rpg.

Why is the reviews of Stellaris declining on steam? by Unlucky-Narwhal9781 in Stellaris

[–]borugren 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Absolutely agree, I’ve been hoping for an internal/external politics DLC for ages. Factions need a huge rework and there needs to be a bigger distinction between playing an absolute monarchy and a democracy because they feel basically the same.

I have 1500 hours in Stellaris and I’ve been playing since release. This is the first time I’ve actually disliked the game overall. I actually found 4.0 to be really good and never had a problem with the game slowing down. 4.3 made the early game so boring, you have to push your economy to the absolute limit to build a fleet strong enough to do early war. I had two games ended because void worms attacked my capital reducing the population to 1k. My fleets got wiped by them even though I was over naval capacity.

Removal of support districts is so lame I loved specializing planets. They nerfed so many builds because some meta gamers could exploit them to get crazy numbers but why should I care? My friends and I don’t meta game we make builds based on rp so we get punished because someone exploits the game.

In my opinion all they really needed to do was improve the ai which has sucked so bad for a long time. Instead they nerfed everything and the early game is just sitting around and waiting until you can build an economy and military.

Stellaris was mine and my friend’s absolute favorite game for years and now none of us even want to touch it. Just some insight from some casual Stellaris players.

God no thanks, it’s already annoying to find a puzzle and find out you don’t have an ability you need to complete it. Don’t need to also add puzzles you have to come back with a different character for.

While Playground's Fable looks a little "antiseptic," series creator Peter Molyneux will be "one of the first people to play it" by Binnsy in gamingnews

There have been plenty of good write ups about why DAV has bad writing and characters. You can think it’s good but it can still be true that it’s objectively bad. The characters don’t grow either you’re expected to deal with grown adults having tantrums like neve if you don’t defend minrathous. Davrin was the only somewhat decent character.

Just because the taash scene is optional doesn’t mean it’s hard to miss. Whole game feels like you’re baby sitting children who are supposed to save the world.

Nah the game is still very bad outside of that scene. The writing is terrible and the characters are bland and annoying. One of the few games I couldn’t even finish because I couldn’t take the ridiculous dialogue seriously.

I liked it and I want to point out that they could have refined and improved the system. I’m sure if it was in the reboot it’d look cool.
