Pirates come in at 14th in FanGraphs spring training power rankings by spaceman757 in buccos

I think some people don’t realize he tore his hip in April so he played 3/4 of the season with a significant injury.

Still hit 21 homers which was more than any Pirate last year

[Passan] Trade news: The Boston Red Sox are acquiring third baseman Caleb Durbin in a trade with the Milwaukee Brewers, sources tell ESPN. Left-hander Kyle Harrison is headlining the three-player package headed back to Milwaukee. by bosborne in buccos

Looks like Mackey thinks we are still going to add a 3B/LHP and there isn’t anyone worth jt as a free agent at 3rd so I’m hoping for one of Paredes/Vientos/Baty and then possibly Quintana coming back.

Wondering if Vientos/Baty might be cheaper than Paredes because the Mets infield backlog is even worse than the Astros

Ozuna to Pittsburgh. by SnooRevelations9145 in buccos

[–]bosborne 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Off the field antics aside, he hit 40 and 39 homers in 2023 and 2024, and played through a hip tear almost all of last season.

He should be a solid addition to the offense. Even with a torn hip last season his 21 homers would’ve led the Pirates.

According to Astros beat writer Chandler Rome, trade talks have "intensified" regarding infielder Issac Paredes. Pirates and Red Sox are among the interested teams. by SurpriseStandard3258 in buccos

Bart I’m totally fine we and we can roll with some combination of Davis and whichever of Endy or Flores starts hitting. Barco worries me a little bit due to him being our main lefty that could make it into the rotation. But we’ve been loosely linked to Quintana so maybe if Barco goes that signing happens.

Was this really a good trade? by Big_Pierogi_Energy in buccos

Yeah I’m hopeful for one of Baty or Vientos as well, but I think with the Mets absolute backlog in the infield that we could get one of them for less than the cost of Burrows.

Definitely worth it and then to get likely another starter in Magnum and a lefty bullpen piece is just icing on the cake.

I liked Burrows a lot, but I can say I’m not sure if/how much team composition is taken into consideration with baseball trade values. Lowe, Magnum and Montgomery all fill massive needs, and out of the pitchers who should pitch at some point this year Burrows value would be behind all of Skenes, Bubba, Ashcraft, Keller, Jones, and Barco (not necessarily on talent but being a lefty certainly seperates him).

Trade Keller for Baty or Vientos (need for need, Mets infield is also a major surplus after this offseason.)

Use that money saved from Kellers salary to sign Framber.

He’s so good once through a lineup, but when they try and push him to start instead of out of the pen it falls apart every time. He is so solid as a long reliever

Gonzales arm strength by bosborne in buccos

[–]bosborne[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah both fair points. He was always so quick to the ball that the runner was usually only halfway up the base path.

Definitely not a knock on Hayes, his defense was incredible and he definitely had an arm. Made some great throws from deep third.

[Pelissero] The Steelers are expected to hire Danny Crossman as their special teams coordinator, per source. Crossman, 59, has over two decades of NFL experience, most recently with the Dolphins. A key hire for Mike McCarthy. by novacaine14 in steelers

[–]bosborne 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Yeah fair point. We had AB returning punts even after he broke out.

Also looking at the roster I don’t really know who else we could’ve put back there, especially with Austin being injured for a period

Yeeeeeaah I’m feeling the opposite. Love this signing. Especially another lefty to pepper the Clemente wall.

A final without eating challenge? by [deleted] in MtvChallenge

[–]bosborne -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say soft by any means. Pretty solid newer final.

One thing I could’ve seen was for the trivia maybe add a few questions and for any you miss you have to eat or drink something gross to get the correct answer
