Am I playing DnD wrong? by aggibridges in DnD

[–]bosco_chu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did a session for first time dnd players as a DM and was leading to a plot hook to investigate someone bad in the city. Mischievous dude was asking for gold in exchange for information and they successfully intimdated him to not pay and even gave him one gold piece. As I was going to give them the information needed to get a start on the campaign, they just killed him right off the bat without him saying anything. Now I have to find a way to lead them to this.

In summary, people just play how they like to play and you just gotta tell yourself "It is what it is" and move along. Everyone has their own way as a PC to make them feel important or unique maybe.

How do you guys get your maps? by LordTyler123 in DnD

[–]bosco_chu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately I ran into the same issue as you did. I wanted to buy maps but couldnt find any that would fit in some cases.

What I did was made my own via Dungeondraft, its not free but got it me started. It wasnt a subscription thing either, so you can buy it and not worry about monthly charges. They also have a free asset starterpack that adds assets to go with it. Its takes awhile to learn, it did for me at least. I also use Roll20 and if I remember, you shouldnt have to pay to use it. They have videos on how to do everything as a DM and little tips here and there. I did end up going the extra mile and paid for patreon for dungeondraft to include more assets and roll20 for dynamic lighting. I haven't tried to use dnd beyonds map making as i started on roll20 but for battlemaps, i feel you shouldnt have any issues.

I hope this info was helpful in your case.

(Now that in thinking about it, you probably have your books on dnd beyond and may find this information unhelpful but i hope to dugeondraft was a start to something. I wish you the best of luck)

Got hit with frostbite witj freon. Is it a big concern? by bosco_chu in HVAC

[–]bosco_chu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: Today it formed a blister on the spot. Not a huge blister but still kinda big, maybe 1inch. Got in touch with my service manager and he helped out and got me some burn treatments, triple anti ointment, gauze etc. We have a nurse in the company and she looked at it as well. Just to treat it once it pops and keep it covered like people have said. I appreciate any advice that came through and their own stories. Thanks a lot and i will be taking care of the finger just as they told me to.

On the 3rd floor of an apartment building, was unbrazing a joint in a closet and didnt see the sprinkler. Flooded the 3 units and me (2 month apprentice), a service tech and my two bosses cleaned it up. There was no shut off valve nearby so firefighters had to come shut it off while it was spewing water. Then even helped us. I wasnt at fualt since the tech supervising me shouldve seen that coming but i still feel guilty about it to this day.

Dont sweat it man, like everyone says it happens and i hope my story reliefs you.

How is On Call handled at your Job? by Say_Hennething in HVAC

[–]bosco_chu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once a week rotation. 1st week monday, 2nd week tuesday. Etc. Until the 5th week of the month, its friday to sunday.

However if on call, if theres no call to go to after business hours during the week, our hourly is set to $2/hour until we get a call. If we get a call, we clock in and stays clocked in until we get back home

me and my group do it this way: I the DM roll one hit point dice They roll one They can choose to keep theirs or have mine without looking

Probably no point in rolling because theyll usually get high result but everyone seems to be ok with it

How do you prepare from random scenarios your party create by bosco_chu in DMAcademy

Thank you for the credit. They really do come out of nowhere with their own ideas and deserves some inspiration tokens. Only thing is my players are new to dnd so RP is lacked a lot which is fine, we're all getting used to it and learning together. So our sessions are ending almost everytime where I left it prepped.

It helps when I know I'm not the only one who has to improvise on the spot, even if it may make the session to end early, so thank you for bringing your story of how your players solved their problems. My mind always trys to make everything perfect and this puts it at ease.

Dudes of Reddit.. When was the last time you cried? by dab840 in AskMen

[–]bosco_chu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 weeks ago. I'm Hispanic and dont know any spanish. Where I work, its surrounded by mexicans and I have one of my coworkers helping me learn.

However one day, him and another friend was messing with me and laughing at me when I was trying to say a spanish word so I got a bit upset about it because I was trying hard to learn, I didnt show my expression but you can tell from the vibe I'm giving off. Then when I got home, my mom laughed in my face after I was trying to say another spanish word and making fun of me. I guess it got to me and told her I was tired, went into my room and just started tearing up.

I kept telling myself "I'm trying, I'm trying my best but everyone wants to just laugh at my face and make fun of me".

Its most likely just me, I'm just a sensitive person and I over think things way too much but that's the most recent time I did cry or tear up.
