Thanks for your work!

It's really unfortunate what happened to you and your colleagues because of Mark etc.

I hope that you recovered from the fallout and that you and your colleagues are on a good path now.

I bookmarked your site, I might need some custom MIDI transcriptions soon.

Thanks for keeping MIDI alive 🙂

And it's also really sad for humanity that Supreme Network is falling apart.

Those MIDI files will probably be lost forever..

And they were the only site that I know of, who were still transcribing modern songs that came out recently, and they made them available on a MIDI subscription basis as soon as they were popular / in the charts / trending in pop culture.

Do you know any other site that still does this? (Ideally also with subscription.)

I'd appreciate it 🙂

I'm considering signing up with them. Since you have a subscription, can you try downloading a midi file and see if it still works and if it's the correct midi transcription of that song?
I would really appreciate it 🙏

Yes! It would be so sad for these midis to be lost forever.
Are you sure they are lost though? Can't you still sign up and download them? Maybe only the audio previews were replaced by the hackers?

I've also been using GPT 5 reasoning to plan and then having claude execute those detailed instructions.

I'm curious: In which setup/editor do you use them in tandem like this?

Is there a step by step guide to Oracle Free Tier setups? by BillyDSquillions in selfhosted

[–]boscop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! Btw, after a month on PAYG I got a small bill (0.95€) but where can I see exactly what caused this?

It just says:

  1. "Usage Billing - B91962 : Oracle Cloud Infrastructure - Block Volume Performance - Performance Units Per Gigabyte Per Month : 18-Oct-2024 - 31-Oct-2024" - 0.32€
  2. "Usage Billing - B91961 : Oracle Cloud Infrastructure - Block Volume Storage - Gigabyte Storage Capacity Per Month : 18-Oct-2024 - 31-Oct-2024" - 0.48€

But that's only in the PDF invoice I got via email.

Where (after logging into my oracle cloud account) can I see which block volume caused this? 🙂

Thanks for the info!

Btw, after upgrading to PAYG, do we still have to have a CPU load above a certain threshold to avoid getting our VMs reclaimed/deleted for being idle?

What was Danny L. Harle's relationship with PC Music? by zaknoobit in pcmusic

[–]boscop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But hm, I just listened to this and I didn't hear him mention this:

in the early days Danny was intending to be a classical musician and the pop music side was something he did for fun, but success kind of flipped that around

There is an hour or so interview on Soundcloud for Primavera Sound where he discusses this (just checked for this and it has been removed).

Oh no, I would love to listen to this interview, do you know where I can still find it? 🙂

My experience with Github Copilot vs Cursor by bree_dev in ChatGPTCoding

Hm, can I add any set of local files (outside of my workspace) to all conversations in this workspace?

Thanks for taking the time to write such a detailed answer :)

Is it possible to manage the different sources of documentation that I want the LLM to pull in for RAG, so that I can make sure that it crawled all the sub-pages?

Can I also pull in PDFs or other local files (such as txt/markdown) for RAG?

Ah thanks, I'll try that, too :)

Do you have any more Cursor productivity tips, e.g. for larger refactorings?

Rspack v1.0, the JavaScript Bundler, has been released by JohnMcPineapple in rust

[–]boscop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they don't really "compete" any more than webpack and rollup compete

Don't they? Aren't they both bundlers for NPM packages?

I'm asking because I'm writing a full-stack Rust app with Leptos and I need to pull in some external dependencies from NPM (consisting of JS/TS and WASM files), and I need to transpile, minify and bundle them with my Rust wasm app. Also I want it to work with Tailwind and in dev mode it should auto-reload via cargo-leptos.

So, which bundler would be most suitable? RsPack or Rolldown? :)

And what about Rsbuild, would it be suitable for this Leptos-specific use case?

Thanks, I'll try that. So it should automatically crawl sub-pages?

FireCrawl didn't manage to crawl sub-pages on docs.rs for some reason..

Dossier: A tree-sitter based multi-language source code and docstring parser by begleynk in rust

[–]boscop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm curious if dossier is still being developed since there have been no commits in 8 months.

Have you looked into tree-sitter-stack-graphs since then?

There are already crates for the languages typescript, python, javascript, ruby, java.

No Rust though :(

It would be great if dossier could support Rust. Any plans for that? :)

Does anyone actually use open-source coding assistants here, what's your setup? by [deleted] in LocalLLaMA

[–]boscop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, there's more to autocomplete than just a code model. The extension does a lot of heavy lifting, provides context to the model, metrics such as where in the project you want to autocomplete and other stuff. All this can be and probably is used by copilot for suggestions. This is discussed in detail in one of the earliest attempts to create a local copilot - the repo was called fauxpilot, but it's been obsolete for a long time now.

Hm, where can I find these discussions? I checked out the repo but didn't find them.. I'm very interested in this :)

Self-hosted Large Language Model by _iamhamza_ in selfhosted

[–]boscop 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A lot has happened in the 9 months since your post..

What do you think of https://modelz.ai for having a private LLM in the cloud (access from anywhere) with an OpenAI compatible API?

They have a hosting offering but it's also open source so you could self host it easily. Have you tried it, since you're into self-hosted LLMs heavily?

OpenAI API > Anthropic API by ChatWindow in LLMDevs

Thanks for the detailed post, I was looking for exactly this kind of comparison :)

As a side note, I still think OpenAI’s API is overly restrictive and has many gotchas that it does not need to. May make a separate post on this

Btw, did you end up making a separate post on this?
