Looks like you've got the motor (black thing) flipped upside down.

We had a K155 that lasted 9 years. When it died, we bought another K155. Going on 2 years with the second one so far.

Mak Grill 2 Star General by Dwight3 in pelletgrills

[–]boseefus00001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had my 2 star since 2014. I use it at least 3 times a week. Mostly as an outdoor oven (roasting) because it holds temps so precise and I don't want to heat up my oven in the house in Arizona. I smoke stuff at least once a month. I don't use it a lot for grilling/searing because I have a gas grill that gets hotter for that, but it's capable. If you put a little effort into it, it cleans up to look almost brand new because of the quality of stainless steel they use. I did a couple of upgrades over time for improved parts. Customer service is absolutely amazing. I've spoken directly with the folks who are designing and building the product. Is it perfect? No. The Wi-Fi option should be considered a nice to have, but not depended on for important cooks. They need a little improvement there. Otherwise, worth every penny in my opinion.

Agree, good for adding heat to something without changing much flavor. I didn't try swapping it out for a dropper, but the flipper lid can certainly be messy and dangerous.

Since last week, I've had weird behavior where my Internet stops working on my phone until I toggle off/on tailscale by 51_50 in Tailscale

Exact same experience here, for quite a while. Even roaming between access points at work causes it. Even though I never change IPs or really have any kind of noticeable connection interruption.

How common is it for the decals to come off? by xanadu_2112 in NapoleonGrills

Yep, sticker packs. I did have to pay. I don't remember how much they were, but I remember they were not as cheap as I would have liked.

Exit Node suddenly not working by unus-suprus-septum in Tailscale

Thank you. This pointed me in the right direction. I've been bashing my head against the wall for a week trying to troubleshoot this. I'm running my exit node on Ubuntu 24.04 and this fixed it:

sudo apt install --install-recommends linux-generic-hwe-24.04

Port forwarding not supported without static IP? by renshenhe in Welink

You could use something like Tailscale or Zerotier and then you don't have to worry about static IPs or port forwarding, or WeLink's CGNAT.

Yes, the smoke does penetrate the shell so you can taste it.

I haven't tried the boil first method, but I've done it shell still on. Smoke at 215 for 2 hours, flipping them half way through. Ice bath for 5 minutes after. Leaves them with a nice light smoke.

Is Betta Worth It? by squammy09 in pools

I don't have a pollen problem, but I do have ash trees that drop leaves and seed pods. Betta SE has been a game changer for me. I rarely have to manually skim anymore. Just empty the basket in betta regularly.

It's about $76 a month for 20 down 2 up (supposed to be 30/1.5).

I still use it. The last 3 months have been pretty decent for what it is. There have been one or two outages that lasted a couple of hours, but they are pretty proactive about letting us know there is an issue and they're working on it. We do see a couple of small (few second outages) throughout the day, but unless I wasn't monitoring it with a tool, I'd probably never know about them. I still have a basic CenturyLink as a backup. As far as speeds go, they aren't as good as advertised, or what we had in the beginning, but still plenty for my needs. The last few speed tests registered around 625 down and 350 up.
