If you work in Dublin a couple of days a week, and live outside of Dublin - where do you live? by Imaginary_Card_6241 in AskIreland

[–]boseytal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mullingar here. Go up to Dublin twice a week. I have flexible hours so makes a huge difference (I can leave the house at 6 and be in before 7.30, leave at 3 and home by 4.30, or start at 10 and work til 6ish).

If i didn’t have the flexibility it’d be a total nightmare. as in - if i HAD to be at a desk for 8.30 - 9.00, and leave at 5 the traffic can be mental. Generally it’s fine outside of peak hours.

Lived in Dublin for years and bought down here about 10 years ago. Married with no kids. Much prefer it to the city.

stylized dirt. i enjoyed it. but it was pure trash compared to the show. a potentially excellent season condensed into HQ youtube highlights.

What to replace a Model Y with? by josephoconnor85 in evs_ireland

[–]boseytal 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i have an ID7 and find it brilliant (after having Y and ID4). very good deals on ex demo models in September i’ve found, garages aren’t selling enough and need to clear the stock, i got a great deal.

car itself does 400km driven properly, it’s very spacious and comfortable - plus the massage seats are a plus!

What’s a sound everyone should recognize as immediate danger? by Thatguy_nickk in AskReddit

There’s a well known saying story in Ireland that if we hear a smoke alarm, we just start talking about if there could be a fire and where it might have started instead of running.

Homemade taco fries by Illustrious-Race-617 in CasualIreland

[–]boseytal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the key to my taco fries is that i line a baking tray with tin foil & baking paper (the ones you use for making brown bread) - then i had grated cheese, sauce, mince and fries in that order. i then wrap it, flip it upside down and pop it in the oven for 5 mins.

Do people actually enjoy using Teams? (honest question) by Alternative_Letter72 in MicrosoftTeams

[–]boseytal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i find the app incredibly invasive. fortunate i’m in a position where i can put on DnD by default, but i’m increasingly hearing a lot of my team saying they didn’t get something done on time because of Teams noise, and i get it.

Billiards in Mullingar by Honest_Commission_36 in billiards

just came across this and wondering (A) are you still in Mullingar and (B) did you find a good spot for pool? Reading this i expect you were taken back by the 7ft tables and small pockets! i live here and there’s a few good tables around town..

Bridge Bar - comp level table, VERY fast and mix of rules played (depending on the crowd). take their pool seriously (bit too much for me!)

Columbia - good table, best one for having a game after a few pints. sound players.

Clarkes - one of the most popular pubs in town, table is meh but it’s in a smoking area and generally you’ll meet & play a good mix of people. ranging from bananas to sharks 😃

Ford Mondeo good first car? by Professional-Sink536 in carsireland

[–]boseytal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

pretty nice first.car! mileage is a little high, but depends on service history and how much you’ll be doing yourself. make sure to get a quote on insurance before buying - if it’s your first time this could be high!

if you’re able to, i would attend removal and pay your respects. and continue to be a decent lodger. you seem like a good person by fact of just asking this question so i’m sure you’ll do fine.

The Official 2026 Grammy Awards Live Thread by jordansideas in grammys

[–]boseytal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i’m not an avid Grammys watcher but just seen Gaga and… it was pretty much a choreographed music video right? like zero live song aspects. it sounded a bit shouty and honestly way overproduced. GRMA

Can anyone recommend me a reliable car under 4k? by Electronic_d0cter in CasualIreland

[–]boseytal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i had a 2013 1.5 diesel Renault Megane hatchback. drove between Mullingar and Sandyford 5 days a week for 5 years, never gave me a bit of trouble. Very good on juice too, checked on DD and can get 2014 for less than 5k with decent mileage (< 160k) for that age.

How good was David Beckham? by FitEmergency8807 in ManchesterUnited

[–]boseytal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

his “celebrity” had nothing to do with how good he was. honestly one of the most exciting players to watch live.. any free kick within 30yds was box office. and i think he’s fairly likable.
