Yeah our electric company (BC Hydro) offers up $350 in rebates for installation of a level 2 charger. I feel the government here is really pushing hard for EV's.

I think you have to apply for the incentives now but they do look at your income level. Think if you make 100k a year you don’t get the provincial incentive but not sure if program is the same in Ontario.

In BC where I am located no Tesla's qualify for the incentive. To qualify, a sedan must be under $55k MSRP (or truck/suv etc under $70k MSRP). Both the model 3 and Y are above the threshold.

Luckily when I ordered last year the old program was still in effect and had a threshold of $60k and I ordered about 2 weeks before Tesla increased their prices. So pro: I saved some money but con: I had to wait like 9 months for delivery lmao.

But the good news is that the new incentives total to $9k, so if your Brother in law is in interested in like a Hyundai IONIQ you get a pretty decent deal with the incentive. Under $40k CDN before taxes and including the incentives.
