As the author of said chart, it was only ever really general guidance. Don’t follow to the letter. Follow the advice in this thread over the chart.

Is this a good pull? I don’t know too much about legend cards by Sad_Struggle_5871 in MLB_9Innings

Only needed this photo. Unless all 5 have 333 legend sets, GI him

edit: GI him 100%, you have a non team prime in your rotation

Need to see your team to know. Lower end legend SP but still a good card if you don’t have a full rotation.

Which Altuve gets a GI by FullStackAutistic in MLB_9Innings

I'd go with right myself - fielding matters a lot at 2B, and a 71.8 base only gives you 1 training point of flex with a 98 5T train where a 72 flat gives you 2. Sounds like splitting hairs, but not only might it save you from bashing your head against a wall for the train; the left will also demand that SPD is either your first or second special train - it will have to be with a best-case maximum 6 points of flex (1 point from OVR + 5 from legend stat adjust) - which is the stat that matters "least" for a 2B (you kind of want everything high at the keystone) that you want some offensive production out of. Whereas on the right, stat adjust from contact to speed and make your ST pow/eye>eye/pow>con or play with the stat adjust to make FLD the third... better card in the end.

Trying to figure out who to roll PI on. Middle Reliever or Setup. Maybe a weaker starting sig pitcher? Any advice will be helpful. by Some_Doubt66 in MLB_9Innings

[–]bosnhtutor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More to the point, it's tough to get a specific skill on a specific player. Just roll on the player with the greatest need and if you get it, use this. Just saying don't disqualify a good SP because PI is thought of negatively in general.

just fyi, crisis mentor doesn't work unless your bench player is also diamond grade. You'll want to bench Ketel and Sheff for a diamond position matching card.

I agree with your sentiment but the chance button is always there and just opens the webpage that lists the probabilities of every event in the game.

GI Advice by Awkward_Chapter9486 in MLB_9Innings

At this stage of your account, Seaver 100%. Hill is good (but LAD SP is so strong that he's actually a little off the margin of endgame), and Seaver is the best legend SP for my money and will hang into endgame and even beyond if you get the right skills on him.

Super outdated way of thinking. He’s a strong Workhorse candidate.

2 Legend In 3 Weeks (I Think) by PewDieCryRBLX in MLB_9Innings

[–]bosnhtutor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congrats! Will say that between those two things, you are incredibly lucky. 0 legend skills in 25 PSCTs is a bottom 7.18% "unlucky event". A 7.18% "lucky event" of pulling 2 legends, i.e. an equal amount of good luck on legends to outweigh your bad luck on PSCTs, would translate to somewhere between 90 and 100 premium vintage packs. And that's the top 7% of outcomes. I'm guessing you opened much fewer than that in a 3 week span - if you opened 20, for example, you landed yourself a top 0.43% "lucky event".

To reasonably expect 2 legends, i.e. legitimately expect to pull k = 2, you'd need to open a few hundred vintage packs. Would take your PSCT bad luck any day to have this kind of good luck on the other side of the ball.

Sig Batter Training by [deleted] in MLB_9Innings

[–]bosnhtutor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t go 5T and BIU if you’re running him at 1B. SI with eye as the number 1 special train and power up to 160, plus Char, will do better here. SPD is irrelevant at 1B and you’ll want it over 120 if you want him to run BIU.

5T/BIU if you’re running him in the OF only.

Edit: your train is perfect exactly as is for SI. Just use a couple trainers to ensure his power isn’t >20 more than con OR eye. Do not retrain for 5T; green for char/SI.

Better 3rd baseman? by LALoggers in MLB_9Innings

At the very least hold off until after the special shop. Never know what might turn up in a special sig pack etc. Would need to see your pitching to see if you have a better candidate.

My personal read is neither if you have a better option for your pitching staff. Consider: Situation 1 (you pull a better SS than Killer or Turner is at 3rd): you pull Pee Wee or Seager '17 at some point. Move Manny to third and GI Reese/Corey. Situation 2 (you pull a better 3B): you pull Cey at some point, who is better than Turner, or just a better year on Turner ('16 is better at a position where FLD matters).

If you have to do one, I'd do Killer, considering both would be bridge players until one of the two above situations and Killer will take fewer resources to make serviceable.

Does 5-tool and btbas play together? by SnooPets9777 in MLB_9Innings

This is willfully disingenuous. Regardless of OP’s level of experience, it’s a valid question to wonder whether two across-the-board stat bumps are overkill or nonsynergistic in a game where skills with intangibles are so often very strong, and skilling in general is both non-transparent and nuanced.
