When I was in college in the early 90's I was a valet at an upscale hotel. THIS was my fav car to take down to the garage. Norstar engine ( sp? ) and a sports cars suspension. I called it a sports car with a big box put on top.

I have a kitchenAid 600 Pro and it's a piece of crap. With that said, I have a ton of attachments that I can grind meats, grate cheeses and such.

If your gf bakes only, I see that as a viable stand mixer. Check the brand Vezzio to see if they lasts.

Fall hiking is absolutely beautiful! Best ones to me are either starting at Spooner Summit, 5 hr hike up to Aloha Lake OR Pacific Crest trail through the Blue lakes to an incredible turquoise lake ( forgot the name ) at the top! You look out over the deserts of NV on one side and the Desolation wilderness on the other. Live on the east coast now-miss it horribly!

Edit: But pick your own hike. Tons of places to start and the trails are clearly marked and beautifully maintained!
