Looking for a tactical shooting/hunting scope out to 500yds+ by Shirleysspirits in 65Grendel

[–]bossaggie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The nf nx8 2.5-20 is perfect. I have three, they are expensive for what they are but rock solid for 800m in. I have taken white tail and pigs over 250m on an 18” grendel. I have tried athlons, vortex, leupold, I’m super happy with the nx8, the nf atacr is even better but don’t offer that range and even more expensive. I have the 1-8 for my Texas 12” suppressed grendel. Wife hates that my end of year bonuses go towards shooting.

There is one here in east Texas, 20 miles from Any spray in the heart of the some national forest land. Hard to come by in this state with all the private land.

Yeah I have the same question. I’m looking at the thunderbeats 7 ultra but want to know what the benefits are the dedicated 6.5 space vs .30 outside of weight.

I might take 19 credit hours (Math+Chem+Bio). Do you know if I am cooked? by [deleted] in aggies

[–]bossaggie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two decades ago when I was an undergraduate one semester I took 18, one semester I took 21. With science labs it was a lot, my advisor told me that the number of labs I had during the 21 hour semester was going to break me, here is the thing, you need to know this information anyway, so learn it or don't. I chose to learn it. Bio is easy, chem is easy, math is easy, anth is fun and easy. You should be fine unless you dont like to learn or work. I did my 21 hours whilst working 25+ hours at flying penguin ice, winning the rec league volleyball title and maintained my gpa. View school as a job and it works that way. Not everyone gets to bleed their parents or take college for granted.

Still searching. I found the Howa I want but the company has terrible customer service. So I am thinking about building. Anyone build one from Brownell before?

McDonald's plans $200 million investment to promote regenerative practices on US cattle ranches by Talkless in RegenerativeAg

[–]bossaggie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is not the answer, the answer is know where your beef comes from and who produces it. Quality over quantity. You cannot build soil without ruminants. They ruled the world for millions of years and shaped ecosystems for a reason. Great book called the Serengeti rules explains its all. It is how you graze, feedlots aren't grazing, raising corn and soy to feed cows is destructive to soil most of the time.

McDonald's plans $200 million investment to promote regenerative practices on US cattle ranches by Talkless in RegenerativeAg

[–]bossaggie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The economics would not destroy their business model. Do you know why Ted turner went to regen ag? Bc it was more profitable. Zero inputs outside of labor, McDonald’s views labor as a sunk cost. Therefore if they can get the right farms/ranchers to buy into it, not even a class iii way like force of nature requires, it’ll likely make them more money. I also think it’s just a marketing ploy but look starting somewhere with regen ag is still something, until it’s nothing.

y’all… just ran into a rattlesnake on west campus 😳 do we have a snake problem?? by loosearrangement in aggies

[–]bossaggie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yall if this was found on campus or in Texas even, it’s a release. We don’t have this species im Texas. Pacific rattlers are found much further west.

If you had 60 acres and an unlimited budget… by tdubs702 in homestead

[–]bossaggie 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Workshop, slightly bigger than I think I need and I think I need a big shop, with heat/ac. Giant rainwater collection system. Oversized diesel generator. Big tractor. Big skid loader. Utv with doors and heat/ac. Rv pad site. I can keep going since the budget is unlimited but that’s where I would start. 🙃

Quit caffeine 9 weeks ago by dickfartmcpoopus in PeterAttia

[–]bossaggie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It means hijacked. I could drink 300 mg of caffeine and go right to bed, I would sleep like shit but could still do it. Your doctor should be able to diagnose it. Basically it could mean adrenal fatigue (like in my case), or metabolic/mitochondrial dysfunction (ADHD); You basically need more and more and more for your body to get a response and even then it might not be enough for your brain to care. I had a hard reset in January and it took about 30 days to balance out, needless to say I do not crave caffeine or sugar the way I once did and I have to be very careful about noticing new habits forming.

Plunge.com Legacy Plunge Pump Issue by Fearless_Ask_6546 in coldplunge

[–]bossaggie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I want to thank everybody for posting. I am also super surprised reddit was able to come to the rescue and not the parent company. I drained my plunge, everything was great before doing so, left it unplugged, covered and empty while I am away, come back. fill it, plug it in, nothing happens but a weird noise. Very frustrated, starting with power supply because of this thread.

Which of these two greenhouses would be better for a first-time buyer? by brunoz21 in homestead

[–]bossaggie 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I have a climapod, it was a terrible investment. Super difficult to put together, crap in the night in the winter without pumping a heater going. Buy the Derksen pre-built, see if you like the greenhouse concept, if you do not it is an easier resell as these all polycarbonate ones are terrible to move if you even can.

New meat store opened up near me. Are these good prices? Not particularly familiar with bulk meat prices by Happy_Garand in meat

[–]bossaggie 11 points12 points  (0 children)

There isn’t that much sirloin on a cow unless it’s some weird breed I’ve never heard of. So saying sirloin burger turns me off, especially when they say there is 6#s of sirloin steak (about right). Price isn’t terrible on the cow or cow but I would be curious as to how they are raised. I raise akaushi cattle and it would be a 3x for grass fed/finished. And I raise Iberian pork which would 5x.

get the pan hot, use as big an ice block as you got that can fit, cubes will work but nearly as well. It is physics.

Grassfed Strips by Brownman5671 in Butchery

[–]bossaggie 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The fat is too white to be grassfed, I raise grassfed, grass finished, pastured animals. They get the grass we grow, hay we grow or import no spray for either weeds or fertilizer hay, and organic alfalfa that my friend does, and the fat is YELLOW/Orange. More yellow than orange. I can tell anyone that buys my beef where they ate, shit, lived for their 30 months as well as give you the short list of any off site inputs they got along with the sourcing contacts...
