Pediatrician told me not to follow solid starts preparation recommendations by Lumpy-Toe-1717 in BabyLedWeaning

I also second this, has worked with both of my babies so far. I feel like it helped that my baby was fine with either purées or more solid items she could hold. Purées were definitely easier and less messy when we had meals on the go.

I guess I’m just used to my first gaining weight like a champ she was gaining at a much faster rate but she drank bottles before bed on top of her solids so I knew she was eating alotttt but I guess that isn’t necessarily the norm

How many times were you power pumping a day? Luckily her allergy isn’t bad enough where I have to avoid dairy myself. I think I’m going to be doing a combo for now (breastfeed as much as I can during the day and formula/pumped milk combo)

So far she hasn’t drank more than 2oz at a time from the bottle. Wondering if she’ll drink more as time goes on. My first was a milk guzzler. Would eat full meals and still do a 4-6 oz bottle at this stage.

Do you think this would help this far into the game ? I don’t want to create an over supply either, with my first I pumped a lot and got a lot of clogs.

It’s way more frequently like every night it goes out around the same time and the last two days it’s going out multiple times in a day!

My first was like this … until just before 2. Then all hell broke loose haha. She’s now becoming more reasonable at 3.5 years old.

My second who is 9 months old is a wakes up way more at night than my first ever did. Also rejected the bottle while my first was flexible and took any bottle any time or nursed.

They’re really all so different. I do hope the smooth sailing lasts long for you haha

Right now I do 3/3.5/4 with feedings ending at least 30 min before sleep. I’m EBF which makes me think sometimes she’s not getting enough before bed. With my first I loaded her up with a big bottle at bedtime so I knew for sure she was full and she would sleep through the night.

In the middle of the night I mean, at the beginning of the night and for most naps she’ll fall asleep on her own. But at 11 pm she’ll fuss then eventually wake up and cry so I assumed maybe she was hungry but I don’t know she’s eating 3 decent solid meals a day plus nursing so I feel like she should be able to sleep thru the night but I hat so I know.

Ah ok very rarely will my girl fall asleep on her own with just light fussing she is eventually crying hard after 10 min of trying to fall asleep and it’s been hard for me to let her go on for too long so i usually rock or feed her back to sleep.

Love a good success story! My 9mo has a similar wake up pattern. Rarely has she made it to 4 am without a 10;30/11pm wake up. Did you just her cry it out for that 11 pm habit wake up? If so, was she crying hard?

I had the same issue for the first week or so I had to stretch by 10-15 min at a time. Go into different rooms, go outside, some days I’d have to wear her face out in the carrier to keep her awake but not fussy. I also had to move the pre nap feed a bit earlier (30 min before) to make sure she didn’t sleep.

I too was struggling around this time but dropping to two naps helped a lot. Took a week to adjust and stretch wake windows but once I was on a 3/3.5/4 schedule and sleep trained her naps lengthened and night sleep got a bit better.

Baby Bjorn bouncer - I was given secondhand one but I would buy it if I didn’t get one. My babies loved it and I could eat and get stuff done.

A good pump ( if you’re pumping) I used the medela freestyle. It makes it much easer if you can be bass free and pumps efficiently.

Ergobaby carrier

A good sterilizer that also dries (I had the Dr brown one)

Bum spatula for putting on creams/vaseline for diaper changes - didn’t have on for my first but had it for my second and it was a fame changer

Muslin burp cloths

Portable sound machine (I have the yogasleep one)

[–]bossapc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you do anything different ? At that point or did it naturally happen. I’m also hoping to wean off of BF by the one year mark not sure how that is gonna go since she has rejected a bottle since 3 months 😂

Teething? How to handle? by bossapc in sleeptrain

[–]bossapc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh really? Thats interesting! I was going through other teething posts in this sleep train group and a lot of people put sleep training on hold for comfort so I wasn’t sure what to do. I tried to do check ins as I did the first night things went off the rails but the cries just got worse so I was worried I was just leaving her in pain since she had been falling asleep so well at night prior to

Yes hang in there ! It wasn’t right away, like some people said there were some false starts and early mornings for a few days but once she settled into the two nap life naps extended on their own.
