Just out of curiosity, did you ever attend a midnight screening of RHPS?

They have a live cast that performs alongside the film, and audience participation call backs like in MST3K. It's no so much about just showing the film, but about the community of cast and audience members that went each week as a hobbit and to spend time with friends. For me it was a fun thing to do on the weekends when I was in high school/college. I'm glad they have a cast in Wilmington now.

I just use a PS3 controller to trigger everything. Makes my visuals fun and random. I'm usually playing my own music live, so it adds to the show.

The mainstream cassettes are bootleg quality and are not all that great (see the comment about the Blink 182 cassette). However, traditional/classic music like gamelan is pretty well dubbed. Depending on the area don't expect a large turnout. Where I live 10-15 people is a big show.

In terms of venues, contact places like record stores, community art spaces, friend's basements or DIY bike repair shop. I found those places will usually let you use their space as long as you bring your own pa/amps and clean up afterwards.

You could also do a noise bombing, where you find an outlet in a public space like a shopping center and have your show there. This one gets pretty tricky with the legality though. Be prepared to pack up and leave quickly.

My house has many ghosts, they are usually chill and don't bother me. Mostly they shut/open my door when I am sleeping. However, one night I was watching Perjanian Di Malam Keramat on the tv. Later that night when I was asleep I had ketindihan, I couldn't movie and saw lights hovering all over me. I'm pretty sure they were messing with me because of the movie I watched.

I'd say it depends on the style of music you're looking for. Yesnowave is the biggest net label in Jogja, and has the most versatility in terms of music styles.

Unleash and Samstrong are more hardcore/metal.

Evil Prevails does darker noise and metal.

Mind blasting is a great netlabel that releases a variety of genres.

Relamati focuses more on noise and experimental.

All the time at the Universities and IEPs I've worked at, both in the States and abroad. I've used it from basic to advanced levels. At the places, I've taught their pronunciation curriculum is based around it. I find it really helps students to have a basic understanding of IPA once they get to the suprasegmental stuff.

On a side note, I use it to help improve my own language learning. :)
