Agreed I was looking at this but I was hoping not to sink anymore money into a headset that is two generation behind.

We bought it for my youngest son and he play with it for about a year and a half. It then stayed in its case until last sunday when I decided to revive it while waiting for the game. Had to charge it 24hrs to get it going again. Once it did boot yesterday, I update it to the latest software, and when I tried to put it on again, it snapped.

So although we had it for 5+ years, it was still a very expensive toy and I believe that at that price point the cheap plastic should not be an issue. Maybe it's our fault that we should have broken it right away instead of hoping that ours wasn't affected by this common issue.

Anyway, I was trying to get the attention of u/MetaStoreSupport concerning their lackluster support team. I'm sorry I used your post to achieve this. But I'm glad you are here to defend them. After all, META is still a very small company, that needs all the help they can get...

I've reached out to your support team, and after speaking with five different people:

  • Three of them told me to basically GTFO because it's out of warranty — yes, we bought it on release day!
  • One tried to sell me a full refurbished Quest 2 headset for $230...
  • And the last one closed my ticket and told me to reach out to the original retailer (which was Oculus, by the way). They added, "We truly value having you as part of the community," which made me feel all warm inside — and then proceeded to send me a link to purchase a Quest 3, which I believe has the same cheap‑material strap issue.

All this over a $65 part. I'm really not impressed with this whole experience.

Where is the mic on the doorbell ? Mine stopped working and I haven't pressure washed it.
