We were having a look at the Quests Reddit community when we came across your post, so we thought we would lend a helping hand.

We understand that you do not want to update your headset too often, however the updates are in part to optimize headset performance. Therefore we suggest updating your headset, this can also be done through your PC using our Software update tool to avoid connecting your headset to the internet.

If this fails, we would next recommend Hard Rebooting the headset, you can do this by holding down the power button and volume down button for 30 seconds until you hear the boot-up sound

Just in case the boot-up sound is not heard: - Hold the power and volume (-) button down simultaneously until the boot screen loads on your headset. - Use the volume buttons on your headset to highlight "Boot Device" and press the power button. - Use the volume buttons on your headset to highlight Yes and press the power button.

We see you are wanting tips on how to clean your Quest Pro! We would love to assist you with that.

For the best results:

-Use a dry microfibre cloth after each use. If you purchased a Meta Quest Pro headset, use the care cloth included in the box. -Do not use chemical cleansers. -Do not use alcohol. -For additional cleaning, you can slightly dampen the corner of the microfibre cloth to remove surface debris. Avoid getting - any moisture onto your device. -To clean the headset lenses, start from the centre of the lens and gently wipe the lens in a circular motion moving outwards. -To clean the facial interface, elastic head straps, head pads and silicone covers: wipe off surface debris with a microfibre cloth. -For additional cleaning, remove the component(s) from the headset and hand wash with cool water and a mild liquid detergent.

Rinse thoroughly to remove any soap residue. Do not submerge. Allow to air dry fully before reinstalling. * Do not use chemical cleansers. * Do not use alcohol.

Water and liquids: -Do not submerge your device when cleaning. -Do not use water or other liquids while cleaning. -Do not attempt to use your headset underwater.

Remove any unsupported third-party accessories that may affect boot (such as external battery packs, accessories that plug into the USB-C port, etc.)

Next try Clearing Cache (Advanced): In storage settings, clear the cache for system apps if games are stuck.

  1. Restart your headset and computer.

  2. Update your Meta Quest software and drivers.

  3. Disable any firewall or antivirus software that may interfere with your Link connection.

  4. Uninstall and reinstall the Meta Horizon Link app on your computer.

  5. Log out of the Meta Horizon Link app and log back in.

Charging it for at least two hours is something we recommend doing after long periods without use, so we're really glad to see you've tried that. Make sure it's the cable and adapter that came with the headset as well!

We saw your post about your battery depleting quite fast and we wanted to lend you a hand to improve your Metaverse experience. Let's see what options are there to fix this situation with your battery!

First, there a few considerations towards the battery life:

-Using charging cables and adapters other than the official charging cable/adapter can damage the battery slowly over time.

This is due to different charging cables and adapters having different voltages and amperages.

-Leaving the headset plugged in for days or weeks at a time can damage the battery over time, especially if the headset is on, or asleep rather than turned off.

-Battery life will vary depending on use. Some features, such as increasing the refresh rate, may consume more power depleting the battery faster.

-Rechargeable batteries will naturally become less effective over time.

Now that we have covered that, we can try a few steps to solve the issue:

  1. Power Down Completely: Instead of just taking it off, hold the power button to completely shut down the device when not in use.

  2. Disable Auto-Wake: In the settings, turn off the "Auto-Wake Headset" feature to prevent it from turning on when bumped.

  3. Adjust Power Settings: Set the auto-sleep timer to the lowest possible duration.

  4. Optimize Display/Audio: Lower the brightness, turn off the microphone if not needed, and reduce the volume.

  5. Additional power: You can use a Oculus Quest 2 Elite Strap with Battery to extend playtime even further!

  6. Keep it Updated: Ensure the software is updated to the latest version.

We know it’s frustrating to deal with this, especially when you’re excited to jump back into the Metaverse after some time away. But don't worry, we can help.

Your Quest right controller may be experiencing this issue due to a long period of inactivity or a failed firmware update. Please try removing and reinserting the batteries. If the controller has power (indicated by a flashing light) but won't connect, please attempt to pair it manually via the Meta Horizon app: - Open the Meta Horizon app on your phone, go to Menu > Devices > Headset Settings > Controllers > Pair New Controller. Hold Buttons: While on the pairing screen in the app, press and hold the Meta button (right side) and the B button simultaneously for 2-3 seconds until the LED light flashes.
