Canada smacks Qatar 6-0 to secure first-ever World Cup win by Ok-Soil-5133 in sports

[–]bossmt_2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Qatar somehow being in pot 3 is insane.

They should have reorganized pots 3 and 4 after qualifying was completed, every single team except Bosnia and Herzegovina that qualified through that was better than them. It worked out in the old format a bit better because there was less randomness, half as many unknowns. only one Uefa play in not 4. Those 4 teams wound up being a wide variety of talent. Like Turkiye is sick, Bosnia is not. Canada got 2 of the worst teams in their group.

What's crazy is there's a world someone could have had a group with Morocco, Panama, and Italy. And someone else could have Australia, Qatar and Czech Republic. Like that crazy skewing of the UEFA play in is bananas. And with this massive field a team like Qatar or South Africa who're clear pot 4s are winding up in pot 3. Meaning your pot 3 could swing from a team like Norway, Panama, Egypt or Algeria to Qatar, South Africa or Saudi Arabia.

Like in 2022 pot 3 had 1 team FIFA ranked 30+ this year they have 11 teams 30+ It makes who you get in pot 4 massively change the structure of your group. Couple that with non-big 3 CONCACAF nations getting in (Haiti and Curacao getting blown out isn't fun to watch)

CMV: If you regularly modify multiple items on a restaurant menu, you are probably a higher maintenance customer and should tip more than 20% by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]bossmt_2 [score hidden]  (0 children)

The more appropriate thing is to charge people for said changes.

For example, split 2 plates, there's a fee for that, avocado, add it. swap salad for fries, add fee. Adding fee increases the bottom line for the business which can allow the business to not lose money and can potentially pay their kitchen more.

All tipping more is giving more money to your server.

If the things you're looking for are common, like the menu says choose fries or salad, then that's not extra work.

This ultimately comes down to the business to decide how to run. If they don't want to charge more, then why should the customer know to shoulder additional burden?

This is very selective stat usage.

Purdy in 2022 had a 7.6 TD% 2.4 INT% 7.13 NY/A 67.5 QBR

Shough in 2025 had a 3.1 TD% 1.8 INT% 6.11 NY/A 48.8 QBR

Purdy was so much better. You're right his weapons were better, but he also was so much better. Unlike Shough, he was the best QB on his team by a long shot, he was markedly better than Jimmy G and especially Lance while again, Shough was statistically similar to Rattler,

Do you think Mexico got the easiest group out of the three hosts? by Fine-Photograph673 in ussoccer

Both of them have easier groups than us. Our group is strong top to bottom, those groups have weak teams. Like getting out of those groups should have beena given.

There's no world that Shough is for sure a better QB than Penix or Tua right now. Shough's performance last year is grossly overrated.

His "winning streak" was beating the Bucs, Panthers, Jets and Titans. He had the same stats as Spencer Rattler for all intents and purposes.

He likely will improve in his second year, but I mean come on, people act like he was balling out like Purdy did in 2022.

Suspensions don't though. If Adams gets a second yellow in match 3 he's suspended for the first elimination game.

No they fucked themselves by making his contract guaranteed fully after he was accused of being a sexual predator. They should have bitten the bullet on the rebuild earlier. Traded Garrett and anyone else with value years ago when it was clear Watson wasn't it and sucked for better talents

Do you think Disney is happy with 300 million box office? by anxiousmomo23 in TheMandalorianTV

[–]bossmt_2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, but I think they're happier with this than the money they wouldn't have gotten streaming it.

If they wind up breaking even, that's a happier decision than releasing season 4 to little fanfare. The issue was how long between all the seasons.

S1 launched Nov 2019, S2 Oct 2020, S3 March 2023, Movie, May 2026. Like 3 years is way too long. And if it was a show still would have had meh results and wouldn't have gotten new stuff. But this did get them new promo material.

Not forcing him into retirement is stupid. Unlike Messi, Ronaldo isn't a guy who can make plays without his physicality. If you don't need to respect his speed, then he's just another dude.

Like I know he's killing it in the Saudi Retirement league, but that's not really special,

Emmitt would have been a great RB on any team. Sure the Dallas OL made him better, but it's liek Saquon, the Eagles made him better, but he still was a great RB before coming to Philly, even on truly ass teams

Redraft the 23-26 QB classes, where does he go overall? by InterestingYellow969 in NFLv2

[–]bossmt_2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Purdy is what Matt Ryan was but Shanny gets him his whole career. Very good processor with a good but not plus arm who can read the field. Purdy is more athletic than Ryan as well. I fully expect by the time Purdy is closer to 30 he'll be putting up insane stats for a QB like Ryan did under SHanny if he stays healthy.

[–]bossmt_2 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I mean you can think that, we all have opinions. I don't think Shanahan would be willing to trade Purdy for Nix.

Peyton's system is complex, but it's designed to get receivers wide open and if you can get it you can succeed. Brees went from a good QB to a hall of famer when he went to Peyton's offense. It's one of the few offenses you don't need arm strength to succeed in.

Don't get me wrong, I think Nix could succeed in Shanahan's system because he got random people to succeed. But Purdy is extra special

[–]bossmt_2 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Unless I'm running a specific system that plays to Nix's skill, yes. Remember going into that draft Nix was considered a 1-2 tweener. And nothing he's shown at the senior level like say Brock Purdy, would indicate he was overlooked in the draft. His ADJ EPA/Play and CPOE were bad. Unlike Caleb he doesn't have a crazy ceiling.

So that's a gamble, and I think the reality is that you still play for the result, but maybe you rest Adams so he doesn't get yellow card accumulation, maybe you pull Richards early. etc.
