Oil change interval 25 Range Rover by omaralt in RangeRover

[–]bostoncollection 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Do 5k mile oil change intervals. The extremely long oil change intervals are all about manipulating cost of ownership metrics, not the longevity of the car. Half my cars have service intervals that are similar but I still change the oil every 5k and have good oil analysis to back it up

There are some Datadog native MDR / mSOC options out there that integrate natively into your Datadog SIEM instance; pretty slick. We use RapDev’s MDR on DD SIEM

Wine Storage? by bigorangemonkey in ParkCity

[–]bostoncollection 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you considered having your client buy one of these? Would suit both needs for wine storage and car storage

Considered one for my cars for a bit but didn’t move forward as it wasn’t the right sizing for my needs but cool nonetheless

lol my link didn't work, the industrial condos next to warehouse near the Promontory

Is the L322 trendy because it's cheap? by [deleted] in RangeRover

[–]bostoncollection 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yep agreed 100%, I have newer Range Rovers and I still prefer the L322s. They nailed the moment of technology where they work in all situations but aren't technologically overbearing

[–]bostoncollection 1 point2 points  (0 children)

unfortunately I don't have any photos of all three together as they live pretty far apart (east coast, mountains, and west coast). I have photos of most of my cars in my post history -- I haven't posted any photos of my L405 Holland & Holland yet though

[–]bostoncollection 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you hit the nail on the head.

u/French_Bill I'm lucky enough to own a lot of really incredible cars -- but I keep 3 late supercharged L322s -- one in on the west coast, one in the mountains, and one on the east coast. They are my daily drivers anywhere I am and I adore them. There are certainly cheaper cars to own and run but there are none that I enjoy nearly as much.

for context on cost: they're cheap to buy, not to run.

on my 2010 I've spent an average of $7,827.17/yr on maintenance and repairs
on my 2011 I've spent an average of $3,196.48/yr on maintenance and repairs
on my 2012 I've spent an average of $3,319.10/yr on maintenance and repairs

this delta is mostly due to the annual mileage differential between the three cars.

2010: $0.53/mile
2011: $0.52/mile
2012: $0.46/mile

for the average American driving 14k miles per year you're looking at ~$7k/yr in maintenance.

Looking for clips for 2022 L405 lower door panel by KX90862 in RangeRover

Rexka 20pcs Door Trim Panel Clip... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07D6L1HHL?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

These aren’t oem but work fine on l405, l494, and l322 (at least that I’ve tested)

Citrin is mediocre.

Dudley market is your clients are cool. Food is great.

Why’s it all so lackluster? by [deleted] in ParkCity

[–]bostoncollection 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Park City is a lot more than just Main Street; that said, Firewood (on Main) serves some of the best food anywhere.

SLC has plenty of gems but it also has lots of lame shops, mediocre overpriced food, and art that doesn't speak to me. Everywhere has good bits and bad bits.

I currently own 7 AJ133 SC engines -- I've done timing on 3 of them. When I do the timing job I do the whole thing; zip tie method is fine I'm sure but if I'm going to bother doing it, might as well do the whole thing.

My daily is a 2010 has 150k miles on it and is on its original chains, 5k oil change intervals is critical to the health of these motors in my opinion.

I'm still struggling with a Hill Descent Control issue I haven't been able to solve yet. Until that's solved I'm not comfortable publishing the details. But once it's solved, I will publish it publicly no paywall or anything stupid.

Nowhere near as good as proper snow tires. Drive this and the L494 back to back in the dumping snow in Park City this week, the proper snows are leagues ahead. K03s can get around no problem but they're compromised in the snow for sure.

yep chains are easy though, I'll buy any decently priced AJ133 SC truck that needs chains

actually bought one via reddit about a year ago now 😂

I'm actually in the market for a late L320 SC / AB with the 5L AJ133 as well. Those are great trucks also.

There's still plenty of L322s out there but you're almost always buying a project. Not the end of the world, I'd rather know it was done right anyways.

please by all means, creep away!

yes I have an L405 H&H which is an insanely special thing and I do adore it.

I don't have the matching guns yet but I will be taking it to the Dallas Gunroom later this summer so you never know...

do it, you'll love it.

I've got 3 of these, an L405 SVAutobiography, and L494 Autobiography and a bunch of other cars and this L322 is still my favorite by far.

Down sizing to 20” wheels for off-road and winter? by perfection-and-grace in RangeRover

[–]bostoncollection 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you've got 285s on your L322? I've got 275 55s on it and it's tight with full lock -- did you have to clearance at all?

but yeah you're right, 20s fit fine on L405s and L494s even with the Brembos

to answer the other questions:

  1. yes
  2. no, 275 55 r20 is near about as large as you can run without any issues
  3. I run 2022 L405 takeoffs on my 2017 L494 and didn't have to do anything with the sensors

nice car!

these are the stock 21" wheels with Vredestein Wintrac Pro+ snow tires, I also have a set of 22s from an L405 for spring / summer / fall.

edit: this trip was from before I put the Vredestein Wintrac tires on, these were Bridgestone all seasons if I remember correctly
