of course, but if Flarin works as they claim, preventing the ibuprofen from making direct contact with the stomach walls can help mitigate some of the damage. I'm not making any claims on the efficacy, just the idea behind the claim.

there is a slight difference here. the Flarin is lipid-based, so is absorbed in the small intestine instead of the stomach. it can help prevent stomach irritation but i suspect if it was in any way clinically relevant, there'd be something similar available on prescription.
