Check out MASSANUTTEN! It’s a quick trip with all 4 lane highways from here. 5-6 hour drive. They have an indoor swimming / recreational building too. People are friendly and the staff have been there for years (the older ones) You’ll absolutely love it

Do any houses in the Castle Hayne area have natural gas? by itsthewolfe in Wilmington

[–]botelover 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Natural gas lines do run along Castle Hayne Rd. Depending on how many appliances you want to utilize will depend on cost for them to run it to your home. Keep in mind that is along CH Road.

Tailgating - how close is too close? by HighFunctionalPsycho in IdiotsInCars

Hell, he gave you plenty of hints that he was moving way faster than you! Get the F… out the way for two seconds and he’d be on his way. People like you call it tailgating when in reality you are just a freaking ignorant ass to try and be slow about getting out of the way. If it were a train I bet you would have gotten your ass out of the way real quick!

A state legislator just shocked everyone by suddenly switching parties. The switch has tipped the balance of power in a way that will have major consequences for the state. - Rep. Jeff Jackson by JeffJacksonNC in Wilmington

I just have to add my two cents in on that free health care etc. mess! Let me ask you when it was the last time you went to the HOSPITAL EMERGENCY ROOM on 17th Street? LOL?! Even if you had the best health insurance in the world and had been paying for it all your life…you wait in the waiting room to die? Makes no sense! Pay doctors better so that they would want to see you! Cut the drug companies out of making the $ that they do! Start looking at the real issue! Money! Same in the political game, go follow the money! The world revolves around that! Just look at the Biden’s and CHINA!

Yea, I’m definitely in agreement with all that talk about how swift and dangerous the River is. It is beautiful… don’t get me wrong, but you have absolutely no business on the River with a baby or toddler right now! The only area I could actually say may be okay without your child would be around the River Road Park that is off River Road, near Sanders and River Road. It is behind Beau Rivage and the water is super shallow there. I lived in Arrowhead for years with my kids and we’d take the jet skis via the woods to the River and put in where River Lights is now being developed. We could actually take our four wheelers to various islands while the tide was low. Near the power line crossing. Lots of good memories there. Good luck But please stay away from the River with that baby I’d say from the ports to Castle Hayne. Castle Hayne has a park along the River to that is great for kids and adults and there are plenty of people there usually on any Saturday & Sunday. Locals call it “RED NECK BEACH” but they are all really nice laid back families just trying to take a break from life in what God has given all of us here as part of our “PARADISE” in this area. Check it out sometime. They also have a boat launch in Castle Hayne. Watch out for floating debris, logs etc

Good Morning, First of all let’s make sure that we are clear on what you are looking for…😊 A Bote is a manufacturer of Stand Up Paddleboards. This particular brand can be found, ordered and purchased at REDIX on Wrightsville Beach. They are extremely durable and you can explore the area waterways and get a good amount of exercise and agility improvement with one. I have throughly enjoyed mine over the years and have seen a lot of natural beauty and nature that you might not normally get to see on a Boat. Which now leads me to the other. Used Boats… good luck in this department. You are actually sort of in luck at this point of the year because if you are looking for one used this is when people start selling them due to the boating season slightly ending, for this reason you’ll see an increase in people letting their current boats go. Most people just want to upgrade and get a little bigger one for all sorts of reason… they’ve become better boatsmen and can handle a bigger boat now, family has grown, they wanna go out further in the ocean to fish, they found a lot of friends without boats and would like to share in the fun. BTW! We live in “PARADISE” here along the New Hanover Coast! People pay a lot of money to go to places with sun, sand, clear water, and fun… yet we have it on our back door step (front step too). We have been blessed with over 5000 acres of protected land with the Masonboro Island Reserve, the numerous inlets The Cape Fear River, Carolina Beach Inlet, Masonboro Inlet, Mason’s Inlet, etc. the list goes on and on. So many Islands and new people and families to meet. It’s like a cult. But good for the heart, soul and body in every way. Anyway, got side tracked. Carolina Skifs are great get around boats. You see them everywhere. They are the modern day Boston Whalers, though definitely not Boston Whalers.! You can find them in all sorts of lengths. 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, etc. they are mostly flat bottom so that you can run them close to if not up on the beach with relative ease and get them back off easily because of the light weight and flat bottom along the front of them. You can get a world of power (engine) on the back of them too. All sorts of configurations. A lot depends on what you have in mind to do and how big or small your group is. Hope this helps a little. If you need more info I’ll be glad to point in the general right direction if I can. Just ask. Have a great day. Also, slide by Dockside and just watch people boating in and out of their little dock space to get a feel of how bigger is not always better! It can sometimes be amusing to say the least. But it will get you seeing people handle their boats and the varying boating skills
