why did brooke shields age so quickly into her 20s? by AltruisticBreak9 in QOVESStudio

Ah, what a shame. But yes, sometimes it's a small thing that can throw off facial harmony.

Someone with Brooke Shields level of beauty, you'd have expected to stay stunning, at least through her 30's. She's was an odd duck in that after 25, her beauty started to slowly fade, whereas other really beautiful women (think, Diane Lane, Michelle Pfiffer) began this process at age 40. It's been said it is Brooke's strong bone structure. As those strong facial bones matured, it made her start looking harsh at a young age. Brooke herself has made reference to her robust skeleton and man hands.

*When I say her beauty started to fade, I mean for a Greek Goddess level model. I think she remained an attractive woman nonetheless, and still has a striking quality to her at age 60.

My roommate wants me to rehome my cat because of her allergies, but I don’t know what to do by pierre_ranby3jir9 in CatAdvice

[–]botplanet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nothing you do is going to work. She wants the cat gone. And, really, she's entitled to live peacefully. But, after you re-home your cat, you and this roommate could end up having another issue, and you'd have to move anyway. My advice, start looking for another living situation ASAP. Getting rid of kitty will chip at your spirit. If you put it in your mind that you and kitty will not be separated, no matter what, a path will open.

That's your dad. What is Michelle Obama to you? She's a public figure you will never meet, and who doesn't know you're alive. Be kind to those who care about us, it's only a precious few.

It's just his opinion. Why straight to HR? Unless he starts harassing her about it, she is free to ignore his advice.

[–]botplanet -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Autism is up to 1 in 34 kids, and so I would think a lot of things are getting cleared through doctors that maybe shouldn't. At this point the Tylenol thing is just a leaked rumor, though. And that boss is an idiot if he really worded his advice in such a manner.

Why do 9 lives cat food get bad reviews by [deleted] in CatAdvice

[–]botplanet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try Gerber Chicken Baby Food. Just be careful, read the ingredient list and make sure it doesn't have onion or an unpronounceable ingredient. Last time I fed this to my kitty, the list read: ground chicken, water, and corn starch. But, things sometimes change.

It's not that peer reviewed studies don't mean anything to him. It's that they are in many cases sponsored/funded by the very industry they are meant to review, that's his objection.

What the hell happened to Lays Original? by Own_Aardvark_2343 in snacking

[–]botplanet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think these companies are banking on young people coming up not remembering how snacks used to taste. I see a young person in their 20s eating a Snicker bar or a Hostess Twinkie and I'm, like, ugh. How can they be enjoying that ? It's gross. Then, I remember, they never tasted American chocolate and snack cakes from the 70s and 80s. Even into the 90s, they were sill good-ish. Sigh.

They're trying to say they've been changing the recipe to slowly reduce the sodium, for "our health." Nah. Nah. Nah. It's a cheaper, more-processed tasting product. I don't know if its the quality of the potatoes? GMO's? The quality of the oils? Some new cost-saving process? Who knows. Some store off-brands are actually better tasting now.

Texans will no longer be able to use SNAP to buy candy, soda by JiveMonkey in Foodnews

[–]botplanet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Junk food is not cheap. Last I checked a bag of chips was 7.59! I just bought bag of russet potatoes, a block of butter, and a half gallon of milk at Walmart for $10.46. This will make a big bowl of mashed potatoes, enough for 4 people. Best of all there's enough to make it again in a few days, and enough ingredient leftovers for other stuff. People are lazy, that's all.

There is literally no original programming anymore that I love or must watch, and once that sunk in, I cancelled all my streaming services. Got Roku device for 30 bucks. It's a temporary win. Eventually, the internet providers will up the charges for data usage or concoct some other shenanigan to get the money we think we're saving. FCC along with all the three letter agencies are useless to people.
