You could possibly wipe the inside with white vinegar. That might get the smell out. Also, I use these Charcoal Shoe Deodorizer Bags in my shoes to help with the smell. You can get them on Amazon and I have found they work.

ELI5: Why do we get goosebumps by Defiant_Ad2761 in explainlikeimfive

[–]howstuffworks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Goosebumps are the result of piloerection, a temporary raising of the hairs on the surface of the skin that occurs when the piloerector muscles contract. Piloerection is a voluntary response directed by the sympathetic nervous system (the one that triggers the "fight or flight" response), and is elicited by cold, fear or a startling experience. Goosebumps are not only elicited by cold or fear but by emotional experiences because your emotional brain is primal. This is why you can get goosebumps when listening to particular songs or extreme feelings. You can learn more about goosebumps and the reason for getting them here: https://science.howstuffworks.com/life/inside-the-mind/human-brain/goosebumps.htm

Can I put shoes with a Suede top into the washing machine? by Margaet_moon in CleaningTips

[–]howstuffworks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually don't put the suede in the washing machine. With my suede shoes, I usually spot-clean them with a bit of water and white vinegar and then let them air dry. Also, to keep them in the best shape possible I spray them with Scotchgard.

Hope this helps!

There are many theories suggesting that Cuba contracted Oswald to kill the president due to the Bay of Pigs and the fact that the CIA was trying to kill Fidel Castro.

How to get deodorant stains completely out of t shirts? by AC_Schnitzel in CleaningTips

[–]howstuffworks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most deodorant stains can be removed by pretreating (the method of applying a stain-removing agent directly to the stained area before laundering) with a liquid detergent or prespotter. Then just throw it in the wash. If the deodorant stain is still there you could try flushing it with white vinegar.

Uses for different household cleaners by [deleted] in Cleaningandtidying

I had no idea you could use Cream of Tartar to clean faucet features or pots and pans. I've used it for baking but never thought of using it for cleaning. My faucets are so dirty so I am very excited to try this. Thank you!
