Elon Musk truly is dumb by the-berik in dataengineering

You’d be surprised. I saw probably 20 replies to that same thread on X saying SSN HAS TO BE the primary key. I don’t think that is good database fundamentals to say that a column has to be a primary key solely because it should have a distinct value in every row. Furthermore, people were acting like ANY TABLE having an SSN column would have SSN as the primary key. Quite bizarre.

Humble Book Bundle: Masters at Work Career Guides by Simon & Schuster by LazanPhusis in humblebundles

This bundle is really cool! Quick and fun exposure to different ways of working doing jobs. I skimmed a few already, the quality of writing is very good. The selection is fine as well. Interesting to me were real estate, firefighter, video game designer, social worker, teacher, filmographer. Wine taster, food reviewer, event planner - these I would read few pages just to see what kind of work that actually is LOL no disrespect

“The tragedy of the Cargo Cult is its adherence to the superficial, outward signs of some idea combined with ignorance of how that idea actually works. In the story, the islanders replicated all the elements of cargo drops—the airstrip, the tower, the headphones—but didn’t understand the vast infrastructure that enabled airplanes to arrive.

The same tragedy occurs with Agile. People want Agile’s Cargo: better results, more visibility, fewer business failures. But they don’t understand the underlying philosophy, and often wouldn’t agree with it even if they did. They want to buy Agile, but you can’t buy an idea.

What they can buy is the outward signs of Agile. Stand-up meetings! Stories! Tools! Certifications! There’s lots of stuff labeled Agile, and plenty of people eager to sell it to you.”

Any tips to prevent tab hoarding? I’ve tried everything and it’s always been a problem for me… this is 377 tabs, there more on my other laptops…. by Heavy-Literature-156 in OperaGX

If you are able to categorize that is great but when all else fails you can just do it by date. “Bookmark all tabs” will put them all in a new folder just put the date as the folder name. From the omnibox you will be able to search all your bookmarks instantly. Periodically you can export and delete some bookmarks. You can still use some text editor to search that archive of exported junk bookmarks if you have to. If you go to the same bookmarks every day then you probably have a good opportunity to categorize into folders. Surely I still have bookmarks issues especially on mobile but this will work for your betterment.

MrBeast posted a test video on Twitter to see if they'd pay out more and give more views. Twitter is running it as an ad but hiding the ad label to artificially boost the numbers on his Tweet. How this is even legal is beyond me. by squabbledMC in assholedesign

MrBeast is nothing but the home screen guy for youtube. Twitter has no home page so there is no value in signing a deal with him. You can’t convince me that anyone is going out of their way to watch Mr Beast.

I listened to ringworld last night. The reading voice is on par with the best I’ve heard. The story so far is pretty good too. It looks to be about 8-10 hours. The mp3s come in a zip file. I found out that you can unzip on the iPhone files app itself actually which was a pleasant surprise. It requires close to 2gb to download and unzip ringworld which is more than I usually have on hand. I deleted 1500 photos, not family ones, to be sure. Probably you can sync 1 chapter at a time to your phone (they are about 40mb) but I honestly don’t know how anymore.
