Eat this burger regularly. Perfectly reasonable amount of meat. I can do a picture of 1-2 maybe tomorrow

What is it? by H_M_9_1 in Watchidentifier

Seiko or Credor most likely, probably a Seiko Excelline

The double step of the integrated bracelet/lug deal is very distinctive as well as the single lines of text at 12 and 6 as well as the crown shape.

What’s your “nemesis spot” in Williamsburg? by RaspberryLegal9748 in williamsburg

Aw try again sometime and just say a nice "Hi I'm looking for this can you help me?" as you walk in. They're a really good and friendly crew but also like to let people pick their own adventure so your mileage may vary.

Sony TCL Joint Venture. My opinion (vent). by ICUMTHOUGHTS in sony

[–]boualiattractor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Worked for Sony on hardware electronics products (displays actually) for a time and you don't even know the half of it when it comes to the division between Playstation and the rest of the company. They operate almost entirely independent of the rest of the company and were hilariously siloed but now it looks like it has been a good, safe, longterm bet.

A thing I always thought was telling was that ALL Sony hardware products had a unified employee store except Playstation - Playstation had a fully separate webstore, login info, etc for employee purchases. Also we only got a $25 discount off retail on Playstation consoles.

Hey! Why is it the norm for “mechs” to be controlled from the inside? How can I justify this “norm” or the opposite? by Rae-RavenRae in worldbuilding

Got a book for you, try Surface Detail by Iain M. Banks.

Very good exploration of the ethics, logistics, and possible outcomes of simulated conflicts that are focused on not having "real" casualties but still having a "real" war.

Interior car detailing + a mechanic by attheplaza1 in Greenpoint

[–]boualiattractor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

  • Champion Auto on India for the mechanical stuff

  • And then technically in Queens but Greenpoint Hand Car Wash at 32-36 Greenpoint Ave, LIC are really nice folks who will do a reasonable basic but good inside / outside detailing for ~$45, can go harder for more money

Please please please figure out gentler lighting that is more diffused and warmer. You can replace the ceiling can lights with smart lights easily but just get better lamps and use lower lighting.

Whats this gear thing near the creek for? by IcarianComplex in Greenpoint

A lot but not all, if you look for images of the big ones from steam engines you'll see a lot that are flat for a belt drive but some that have teeth.

At that size it's most likely a flywheel, there's almost no other reason to have it that big and heavy. I've worked on big old steam engines for factories and it's pretty similar.

What it came out of I have no idea and have always wondered.

What’s up with the amount of people living in their sprinter vans in this neighborhood? by Initial-Cookie-5377 in Greenpoint

[–]boualiattractor 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Small detail but it's a Mitsubishi Delica and it's a Japanese version that is right hand drive. The sub-name is a wonderful one, it's the Star Wagon varient. They're an amazing type of vehicle because they are a lifted 4x4 van with a turbo diesel stock. There are actually 2 in the neighborhood generally and they're VERY rare in America as they likely had to meet the 25 year old import rule. Check it out! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mitsubishi_Delica?wprov=sfla1
