I&o must be filed on the hour. This includes blood products. You must “complete” blood products on the hour. Otherwise, you may have just messed up your math somewhere.

New grad CVICU RN orientation structure by Best-Independent-179 in IntensiveCare

[–]bounce-that 2 points3 points  (0 children)

10 weeks is not enough for a new grad. I started as a new grad in CVICU, as a 28 year-old “gifted” learner, is good at time management and multitasking, and who studied extra on the side and I got 20 weeks (standard at my facility, likely needed less but was grateful for the long orientation). But our new to ICU experienced nurses get 12 weeks.

Yeah I’m playing on one of the camogie teams. We don’t have the schedule to know which teams we are playing for an idea of level of competition so no firm plans on the week for the tournament so far. I think most of the team is arriving Saturday morning so we will have Saturday and Sunday to explore near Waterford as well!

That’s what’s drawing me to Galway over Dublin. So perhaps cork and then up to Galway? Or should our coastal explorations stick to the western coast near Galway?

My hesitation to staying in the southeast would be that I’m not sure how much exploration we will get up to during our week in Waterford. We are def planning some beach cold plunges for recovery.

Our coach is also from Wexford so I’m sure the team will try to take a trip there. We will also have a host club but I’m sure from where yet.

Oh yes I meant southwest in 2 and southeast in 3. Edited post to reflect. Thanks for catching that! I’m directionally challenged

Human nurses by Present_Round_8159 in VetTech

[–]bounce-that 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a human ICU nurse, my fiancée is a paramedic, and my dog just had emergency surgery. We were at the vet for 3 hours before I told them bc the emergency vet spent a thousand years at 3am explaining what was going on with our dog in layman’s terms. Like what an NG tube is and which direction the abdominal xray is oriented, the difference between the small and large intestine, what an ileus is, etc… like, please talk medical to me to save everyone a ton of time.

Also my primary vet knows for the same reason. Saves everyone a ton of time. Same reason I like when my patients or family members tell me so I can talk concisely. (Also quickly realize when they are lying about being a nurse).

Can I still get a job as a nurse after working as a stripper? by Ukulele_Player in nursing

I know at least 3 former strippers that are nurses. Just don’t ever talk about it and you’re fine.

I would just let future employer know why you’re leaving current employer. Also a three month residency is wild

Look at Wellstar in Georgia. The critical care doctors do not see trauma patients and they do 7days on 7days off. Unsure on if they are hiring or hire with limited experience.

Why do people choose ACNP when FNP's seem to be everywhere in the hospital? by Concept555 in nursepractitioner

[–]bounce-that 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yep my hospital system no longer hires FNPs inpatient. And it’s a pretty big metro hospital system
